Type of Position:           Seasonal – Part-Time

Schedule:                        Weekends and holidays required.

Pay Rate:                         $19.00 - $22.00/hr.

Summary

Assist in providing high quality technique/tactics instruction to all ages of lesson customers, at the beginner and novice skiing levels. Support instruction and guidance in the use of a variety of lifts and uphill conveyance devices safely and successfully. Every employee is responsible for providing a positive experience for our guests and employees, with safety and fun as our top priorities.

Essential Functions

• Assisting Instructors in teaching and conducting group lessons with safety, fun and learning as the primary goals.
• Provide content introduction, guidance, feedback, practice time and wrap up as outlined in Loveland training materials.
• Assisting students with equipment and helping them learn to get off the snow if they fall.
• Demonstrating specific skiing maneuvers, including loading, and unloading lifts.
• Attending instructor training as assigned.
• When working with children, must adhere to children’s specific procedures as described in Loveland training material.
• Work in a variety of support roles such as; interacting with and monitoring children prior to lessons and during rest periods, serving kids lunches, maintaining cleanliness of facilities, set up & teardown of teaching areas, fitting boots, snow removal, reservation/student check in processes; be willing to occasionally perform duties in other departments such as lift operations, for example.

Requirements

• Must be at least 14 years of age.
• Middle School culmination certificate or equivalent is preferred
• Must be able and willing to work with all ages of students, kids and adults.
• Must be able to verbally communicate, demonstrate and explain concepts clearly.
• Must be patient and nurturing to students.
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50lbs and perform other physically demanding skills, like standing for extended periods of time in extreme weather conditions and high elevations.
• Must be able to ski/snowboard at a technical level adequate to perform assigned job duties. Intermediate skiing skills are required.
• Must have basic computer skills to monitor job assignments and communications from Loveland.
• Apprentices are expected to participate in 1 mid-season parent conference with an SRS supervisor.
