Job Description:

WHAT - Summary & Purpose of the Position

The Senior Manager, Due Diligence & Pipeline Strategy is a key contributor responsible for coordinating strategic pipeline development and the assessment of external programs and entities to support growth through Ipsen's external innovation objectives. Once transacted, the Senior Manager will lead the onboarding, transition, and integration activities to support successful incorporation of acquired assets into the Ipsen ecosystem.

As a key component of Ipsen's growth strategy, this individual will play an important role in evaluating external opportunities, supporting pipeline growth, and monitoring portfolio performance. This role collaborates closely with Global Partnering and External Innovation teams to guide enterprise-wide cross functional SMEs and stakeholders, including Therapeutic Area Units, R&D functions, Commercial, Medical, Patient Safety, Technical Operations, Finance, Legal/IP, and other corporate functions, through a robust due diligence process to develop integrated recommendations that support ELT level decision making.

This role will also support and drive the alignment and integration of R&D pipeline strategy, portfolio monitoring, and governance activities. Additional support for R&D initiatives, strategic projects, and special assignments will be required as needed.

WHAT - Main Responsibilities & Technical Competencies

Due Diligence:

• Collaborate with key R&D stakeholders to ensure stage appropriate representation from relevant R&D functions (Non-Clinical, Clinical, Clinical Operations, Regulatory, Pharm Dev, Quality, Finance, etc.) to conduct pre-diligence and full due diligence of external assets
• Manage access to the data rooms/internal repositories, and data request process to ensure thorough review of science, modality, MoA, clinical/regulatory/CMC feasibility
• Coordinate meetings and discussions with internal stakeholders, as well as external parties as necessary
• Facilitate generation of consolidated R&D view of the assessment with recommendations, integrating cross functional input while highlighting interdependencies, risk profiles, and mitigation plans
• Facilitate generation of integrated global development plan for the asset/s, including risk-mapping and life-cycle management potential assessments
• Support Finance to generate development cost models; and provide Probability of Success matrix to support generation of business case and valuation models
• Prepare material for various governance meetings to support decision making process  
• Manage tracking and archival of due diligence and external innovation activities supporting the M&A initiatives across all therapeutic areas
• Partner with the Ipsen due diligence community to ensure Ipsen processes/playbook and functional support remain state-of-the-art per industry standards
• Drive alignment and integration of R&D pipeline strategy in partnership with Early Development, TAs, Medical, Commercial and GPEI
• Support monitoring, dashboarding and oversight of Ipsen pipeline and portfolio

Pipeline Strategy:

• Coordinate cross functional alignment and integration of R&D pipeline strategy in partnership with Early Development, Therapeutic Area, Medical, Commercial, and GPEI leadership.
• Collaborate with Corporate Strategy on enterprise objectives.
• Monitor pipeline and portfolio prioritization to guide and track alignment with corporate objectives and support strategic decision making.

HOW - Knowledge & Experience

Knowledge & Experience (essential):

• 8+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree or 5+ years with a Master's degree in the pharmaceutical industry or life sciences consulting in cross functional roles, with general understanding of the drug development process and project management
• Strong interpersonal, facilitation, communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficient at dashboarding, presentations and governance material preparation
• Applies emerging AI and digital productivity tools to improve efficiency and business outcomes; builds strong relationships and contributes expertise within and beyond assigned areas.
• Familiarity with pharmaceutical product development and commercialization.
• Experience coordinating and managing cross functional projects across R&D, Medical, Commercial, Manufacturing, or related functions.
• Good understanding of drug development, including CMC, preclinical, clinical, regulatory, and quality disciplines across the development lifecycle (pre-POC, clinical phases, filing, post-approval/LCM)
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize and interpret complex interdisciplinary project information.
• Excellent project management skills, including planning, governance, knowledge management, and risk management, with the ability to inform decision making.
• Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to drive initiatives, anticipate risks, solve issues, and achieve objectives.
• Strong communication, networking, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across R&D, corporate functions, and external partners.
• Demonstrates sound judgment, resilience, and the ability to work constructively under pressure while implementing effective solutions.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and interpersonal effectiveness.
• Strong facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

Knowledge & Experience (preferred):

• Experience working within a functional area like preclinical, clinical, CMC, regulatory is beneficial.
• Experience supporting due diligence, external innovation, business development, licensing, acquisitions, portfolio management, or governance activities is preferred.

Education / Certifications (essential):

• Bachelor’s in science, Business or related fields is required.

Education / Certifications (preferred):

• Master’s degree is a plus.
• Certification in Project Management is highly desirable.

Language(s) (essential):

• Fluent in English is required.

Language(s) (preferred):

• French is a plus.

The annual base salary range for this position is $115,500-$150,000 USD.

This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentives program.

The pay range displayed above is the range of base pay compensation within which Ipsen expects to pay for this role at the time of this posting. Individual compensation within this range depends on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, prior education and experience, job-related knowledge and demonstrated skills.
