Head of Technology

The Role

Our client is a well-established and growing organisation seeking an experienced Head of Technology to provide strategic leadership across its technology function.

This is a senior leadership position with responsibility for shaping and delivering the organisation’s technology strategy, ensuring technology investments and capabilities support business growth, operational performance and high-quality customer outcomes.

Working closely with the executive leadership team, you will provide strategic direction while maintaining oversight of the organisation’s technology operations, transformation agenda, suppliers, systems and service delivery.

This is an opportunity for an experienced technology leader to play a key role in an organisation undergoing continued growth and technology evolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technology function across strategic, tactical and operational activities.
• Develop and execute a technology strategy aligned with broader business objectives.
• Provide trusted technology advice to the Leadership Team.
• Lead major technology projects, transformation initiatives and programs of work.
• Ensure technology initiatives deliver measurable business value and positive customer outcomes.
• Oversee technology governance, standards, policies, systems and service delivery.
• Lead the selection, performance and ongoing management of technology vendors and strategic suppliers.
• Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the organisation and with external partners.
• Lead, develop and support high-performing technology teams.
• Manage technology budgets across both operational and capital expenditure.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, security and business performance through technology.
• Maintain an appropriate balance between operational requirements, technology risk and security.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and assess their potential application to the organisation.
• Drive continuous improvement across technology services, processes and capabilities.
• Ensure technology activities comply with relevant legislation, governance requirements, policies and organisational standards.
• Promote a strong culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation and professional service delivery.

About You

You will be an experienced technology leader with a strong track record of operating at a senior management or executive level.

You will ideally bring:

• Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business or a related discipline.
• Significant experience leading technology functions within complex organisations.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex technology environments and service delivery functions.
• Proven experience developing and implementing technology strategies.
• A strong track record delivering technology transformation and change programs.
• Experience managing end-to-end technology budgets, including CAPEX and OPEX.
• Strong commercial and financial management capability.
• Experience managing technology suppliers, vendors and external service providers.
• A sound understanding of information security, technology risk and governance.
• The ability to translate technology strategy into measurable business outcomes.
• Strong program and project leadership capability.
• A demonstrated ability to lead, develop and motivate high-performing teams.
