Description
You will work closely with insurers, brokers, solicitors, loss adjusters, and internal stakeholders to drive claims to a timely conclusion while delivering excellent customer service throughout the process. This is a fast-paced role requiring the ability to manage a large and varied caseload, meet demanding deadlines, and balance competing priorities effectively.

Key Responsibilities
- Handle a caseload of Employer’s Liability and Public Liability claims from inception through to settlement or closure.
- Liaise with claimants, insurers, brokers, clients, solicitors, loss adjusters, and other external stakeholders to progress claims effectively.
- Gather, review, and analyse evidence to support claims investigations and liability assessments.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive claim records, ensuring all actions and decisions are documented appropriately.
- Ensure claims are managed within agreed service levels, regulatory requirements, and organisational procedures.
- Monitor and manage claims reserves, settlement recommendations, and recovery opportunities where appropriate.
- Support the management of insurer relationships and ensure claims are referred and escalated in accordance with policy requirements.
- Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders, including operational teams and management.
- Handle customer enquiries professionally and empathetically, delivering excellent customer service throughout the claims journey.
- Support the Claims & Litigation Manager to Identify risks, trends, and opportunities for process improvement and make recommendations to enhance claims performance.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the business to obtain information, resolve issues, and achieve positive customer outcomes.
- Assist the Claims & Litigation Manager with reporting, audits, litigation management, and ad hoc projects as required.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve claims handling processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience and Qualifications
- Working towards, or prepared to undertake, a recognised legal qualification (such as CILEX, LPC, SQE, Law Degree) or equivalent claims handling experience.
- Previous experience in claims handling, insurance, customer service, utilities, legal services, or a related environment desirable.
- Experience handling a large and varied caseload within a fast-paced operational environment.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands and meet challenging deadlines.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage with clients, customers, brokers, insurers, solicitors, and other stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and a conscientious approach to work.
- Ability to investigate issues, analyse information, and make balanced decisions.
- Good understanding of customer service principles and a commitment to delivering positive customer and client outcomes.
- Resilient and adaptable, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- A continuous improvement mindset with a willingness to challenge existing processes and identify better ways of working.
