Responsibilities & Qualifications

The Plant Manager (PM) leads day-to-day plant operations. This role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant execution across departments while developing supervisors, driving performance, and preparing for future full plant leadership responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Lead and manage the Safety & Health Program within the production environment.
• Ensure full compliance with all OSHA & HLAC regulations and company safety policies.
• Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability.
• Conduct regular safety audits, training, and incident review.

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead, motivate, and develop Production Supervisors and operational employees; support maintenance leadership as assigned.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Drive employee engagement through regular coaching, performance discussions, and feedback.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching, Talent Review Process (TRP), and succession planning at the plant level.
• Reinforce leadership expectations and follow up on commitments.

Plant Operations Management

• Oversee daily plant operations, including production scheduling, labor forecasting, staffing, and workflow optimization.
• Ensure operations run efficiently and cost-effectively while meeting production and service requirements.
• Partner with Maintenance, Service, and other cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of daily activities.
• Drive operational discipline and consistent adherence to standard work across departments.

Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence

• Lead and support process improvement efforts using Lean and continuous improvement tools.
• Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve productivity, and simplify work.
• Participate in root cause analysis and ensure corrective actions are implemented and sustained.
• Use performance data and metrics to guide daily execution and decisions.

Financial & Performance Management

• Support management of labor, maintenance, and operating expenses.
• Monitor performance versus labor plans, production goals, and cost targets.
• Identify and recommend cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or quality.
• Provide regular performance updates and reporting to the Plant Manager.

Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination

• Support inventory management to ensure materials and supplies are available to meet production needs.
• Partner with Procurement, Service, and Logistics to resolve operational issues.
• Promote efficient resource use and waste reduction

Customer & Service Partnership

• Partner with Service teams to support on-time delivery and customer commitments.
• Assist in resolving operational issues that could impact customer satisfaction.

Vendor & Contractor Management

• Support coordination and oversight of vendors and contractors working in the plant.
• Ensure all external work meets plant safety and operational standards.

Other Duties

• Perform other duties as assigned to support business objectives.
• Travel to other company locations or vendor sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Previous Plant Management experience required (Manufacturing or Industrial industries preferred)
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Knowledge of financial systems and budgeting processes.
• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
• Strong understanding of wage and hour regulations.
• Computer proficiency required (Microsoft Office and related systems).
• Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to be trained in multi-functional operational areas.

Preferred Qualifications

• Healthcare or universal precautions training preferred.
