Description
ROLE PURPOSE
To support the Fraud Graph Analysis Project and related fraud prevention initiatives by delivering technical business analysis services. The resource will be placed onsite in Cape Town and must have experience supporting data analysis projects and providing specifications for system integrations.
REQUIREMENTS
- The managed service Business Analysis function will be responsible for:
Holistic analysis of required risk solutions including source systems and integration requirements. - Managing the implementation of new risk detection features and functionalities.
- Collaborating with Forensic Analysis team, Security, CRM system owners, Big Data Platform team and other relevant business owners to implement new Risk system solutions.
- Conducting interviews and workshops to understand the needs of stakeholders.
- Documenting and analysing business requirements in a clear and concise manner.
- Developing use-cases and user stories to define system functionality.
- Defining integration requirements between other systems and various Risk portfolio systems (Define SQL statements where required, API Swagger/Open API specification).
- Developing conceptual and logical data models to ensure requirements are fully analysed and understood.
- Analysing data in accordance with internal data quality metrics.
- Identifying and explaining patterns and trends within the data.
- Communicating business requirements to the development team and ensuring the development team develops solutions according to the required specifications.
- Organising, facilitating and providing input in user acceptance testing.
- Providing architectural and design input and updating architecture documents.
- Participating in backlog prioritisation, sprint retrospective and sprint planning.
- Conducting post implementation tests after every release and solving operational issues.
- Providing support and input into Security and Privacy by Design Assurance (SPDA) process.
- Providing support in troubleshooting incidents and drafting change requests where required.
- Presenting quarterly priorities at PI grooming and working with other teams to deliver priorities.
- Providing progress updates in standups.
TECHNICAL SKILLS AND TOOLS
- Non-negotiable skills (evidence of assessment required):
- Proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating data from relational databases.
- Proven experience with API Swagger/OpenAPI specification.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Experience having worked on data driven projects: ETL, Data Warehousing, Big Data, etc.
Advantageous:
- Experience working on products built on AWS.
- Experience with Atlassian products, particularly Confluence and Jira.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 6 years of experience as an IT Business Analyst with at least 3 years working on data projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies a plus.
- Strong ownership and a self-starter.
- QUALIFICATIONS
BCom Information Systems qualification, BSc. - Computer Science or any other relevant qualification.
