We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer position based in our Poznań location to join the Spinning & Curing team.
Ready to help build a better future for generations to come?
In an ever-changing world, we owe it to ourselves and our future generations to live life responsibly. At ROCKWOOL, we work with dedication to enrich modern living through our innovative stone wool solutions.
Join us and make a meaningful difference!
Your future team:
Take this chance to grow and learn in a noteworthy company within the field of insulation - and help us reach even higher standards with the ideas you bring. You will execute projects end-to-end together with a connected team of engineers at our Headquarters in Hedehusene and on-site at our factories, seeing your contributions put into play.
Stepping through the doors at our office space in Poznań, Poland, you will become part of Group Technology - within the main ROCKWOOL organisation. In Group Technology we collaborate on creating and handing over machines and on-site equipment, sometimes entire production lines, to our factory sites across Europe, North America and beyond. Therefore, in this role you can expect to travel between 40-80 days per year.
You will become an important colleague in our Hot End, Fluids, Waste & Abatement department, where you and your engineering will be responsible for some of our unique, essential in-house production equipment, e.g. spinners, spinning chamber, curing oven, etc.
What you will be doing:
As our next Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering key equipment used in our stone wool production. You will work across all phases of delivery projects - from initial order and concept study through specification and design to testing, commissioning and after-service support.
You are the expert and key contributor of design solutions in your scope, ensuring the right balance between technical performance and cost over the equipment lifetime. Your responsibility will cover design, specification, time schedule, budget and quality for your scope in the project.
During your workday, you will work hands-on with design improvements, create drawings/specifications, select the right components, and support on-site implementation together with colleagues and partners at our factories.
More specifically, it will be up to you to:
- Participate in small machine delivery projects as well as support large international greenfield factory projects
- Analyse production equipment needs and production challenges, considering investment cost, lifetime, and running/maintenance cost
- Make clear and unambiguous technical agreements with the internal customer and other involved parties
- Produce mechanical designs (drawings and/or specifications) for production equipment within your scope
- Communicate and collaborate with suppliers to place orders and follow up to secure compliance with specific design needs
- Ensure that required documentation and reporting is completed and archived in line with CE directives and GT rules
- Travel to factory sites to supervise implementations on-site and collaborate with international colleagues
- Partake in budgeting and the development of tender material for suppliers
- Act in line with ROCKWOOL’s code of conduct and confidentiality requirements when representing the company externally
What you bring:
- 5+ years of experience from a similar position, working with mechanical design, machine construction, design specifications and 3D modelling using Inventor or a similar programme
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Knowledge/experience in engineering or maintaining bulk material handling equipment (transport, storage, granulation, milling) would be a plus
- Knowledge of wear resistant materials would be a plus
- Proficiency in English at a minimum B2 level, both spoken and written - as an international company, we use English in our daily communication
What we offer:
By joining our team, you become a part of the people-centric work environment of a Danish company. We offer you a competitive salary, permanent contract after the probation period, development package, team building events, activity-based office in Poznan’s city center in the new prestigious office building – Nowy Rynek.
