CDL-A Local Intermodal Driver – Good Pay + $10K Bonus | Home Daily
Join a local intermodal account offering daily home time, a $10,000 bonus, competitive weekly earnings, and additional pay for congestion, border-area routes, Hazmat, and weekend work.
Pay Details
- Average Annual Pay: $86,000–$110,000
- Average Weekly Pay: $1,700–$2,150
- $10,000 Bonus
- $50 GW Bridge pay for qualifying loads to upstate NY, CT, MA or RI
- $75 congestion pay for loads in NYC boroughs
- $22/hour detention or rail delay pay
- $45 driver load/unload pay when required
- $40 Hazmat load pay
- Weekend differential contributes to an $80K–$82K yearly average
- $200/day ramp training pay
Job Details
- Transport loaded rail containers between the ramp and customers within a 250-mile radius
- Pick up loaded containers and return them to the ramp for shipment across the U.S.
- Routes include Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens, Staten Island, Long Island, PA, NY and CT
- Drivers must be willing to service all assigned operating areas
- Driver unloads are rare and discouraged; paid when required
- Hazmat endorsement required within 60 days after being scheduled
- Minimum 5 days of ramp-specific training after orientation, with additional training as needed
Shift Details
- Home Daily
- Friday–Tuesday or Thursday–Monday
- Start times between 2:00 PM–8:00 PM
- Schedule selected during the welcome call and remains the driver's assigned shift
- Approximately 12-hour days
- Optional work available on scheduled days off
Job Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL
- Minimum 3 months of CDL-A experience
- Must be willing and able to operate within a 250-mile radius of Jersey City and Elizabeth, NJ
- Hazmat endorsement required within 60 days
- Clean driving record
- DOT Medical Card
- No SAP Drivers
- No riders
