Job Summary
Senior Architect, Insight PlatformPosition Summary
The Senior Architect will help shape the technical strategy for the Insight platform, partnering closely with offshore development teams, infrastructure teams, and Mass General Brigham product owners. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and user-centered IT systems across infrastructure, data, and application domains.
In this role, you will guide digital security architecture, oversee server and network infrastructure, and design robust data architecture and warehouse solutions that support business intelligence, cross-functional access, and informed decision-making. You will serve as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating requirements into secure, resilient solutions that align with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, implement, and maintain integrated IT, data, and security architectures that support scalability, performance, resilience, and business strategy.
• Lead strategic planning for infrastructure, security, and data systems, anticipating business needs, technology trends, and emerging risks.
• Establish and promote standards and leading practices for data governance, infrastructure, and cybersecurity across the organization.
• Drive enterprise-wide initiatives from planning through execution, including resource coordination, timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communication.
• Collaborate with clients, product owners, stakeholders, and development teams to translate business needs into practical technical solutions.
• Define and track success measures, including KPIs and OKRs, to evaluate program impact and guide continuous improvement.
• Support organizational change by aligning initiatives with strategy, communicating vision and value, and encouraging adoption.
• Conduct advanced risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies to protect against emerging security threats while strengthening infrastructure resilience.
• Design and build secure network connections for internal systems and customer environments, balancing performance, reliability, and security.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and communicate progress, outcomes, and recommendations to peers, supervisors, and stakeholders.
• Recommend hardware and software investments that support infrastructure, security, and long-term platform goals.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study required.
- Master’s degree in a related field of study preferred.
- Relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
Experience
- 8–10+ years of experience across network architecture, data warehousing, software development, systems architecture, and database design required.
- 5–7 years of experience in data analysis, including data interpretation, modeling, and reporting required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Extensive expertise in information security, network architecture, and data architecture, including aligning strategies with business and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to design, implement, and secure systems and networks across diverse platforms, including LAN/WAN, SANs, and cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Strong knowledge of internet, routing, and networking protocols across all layers, with experience optimizing both security and network performance.
- In-depth experience with data warehousing, data modeling, relational databases such as Oracle and SQL Server, dimensional modeling, and SQL query optimization.
- Experience with data integration and ETL tools such as Informatica, DataStage, and SSIS, as well as cloud-based data platforms and cloud data warehouse technologies.
- Strong understanding of software architecture and development principles, including microservices, service-oriented architecture, APIs, cloud application design, scripting languages, and DevOps automation tools.
- Solid foundation in data governance, privacy regulations, data security leading practices, and the impact of cybersecurity decisions, particularly in healthcare or regulated environments.
- Strong problem-solving, diagnostic, and analytical skills across network, data, and software domains.
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
