SOS Children’s Villages Somalia has officially been working in Somalia since 1985. SOS is currently working in 134 countries worldwide. We are committed to the welfare of children – often throughout the whole of their childhood, and to strengthening families and communities as a preventive measure in the fight against abandonment and social neglect. Children’s Village concept, the organization pioneered a family approach to the long-term care of orphaned and abandoned children. SOS Children’s Villages Somalia current works in three regions; Banadir Regions (Heliwa, Wadajir, Dharkenley and Dayninle districts) southwest-state (Baidoa, BurHakaba, Barawe,Diinsor,Berdale,Qasaxdhere and Hudur) Hirshabelle State (Jowhar,Adale & Balcad)

Position title : Finance Officer
Reporting to : Area Manager/ Finance Coordinator
Location : Baidoa, Somalia
Job summary:
The Finance Officer is responsible for fulfilling the financial requirements of SOS facilities in Southwest - Somalia. In particular, s/he ensures that all SOS financial procedures and requirements are implemented and adhered to. In addition, s/he ensures that SOS Procurement procedures and policies are also adhered to.
Job Responsibilities:

2. Ensures that Financial Resources are used effectively
3. Ensures the proper collection of fees
4. Donor reporting
5. Performs general administrative tasks
5. Data Protection
At all times ensures that personal data of donors, sponsors, SOS CV beneficiaries and their families as well as SOS co-workers is handled confidentially and in accordance with prevailing SOS-Kinderdorf International data protection laws..
Performs other reasonable tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor
Job competencies: Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accountant or related field
- Minimum 3 years of progressive professional experience in Finance
- Excellent command in Somali and English
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ward Management Skills
- Basic Knowledge and experience Finance
- Proactive, result oriented, independent, able to identify and carry out duties with minimum supervision
- Leadership skills essential
