Payroll Officer

At Ecolab, we're committed to helping our customers achieve cleaner, safer and healthier operations. We're currently seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our collaborative payroll team on a 12-month fixed term contract covering a parental leave period.

This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional with strong New Zealand payroll experience and hands-on MicroPay expertise to take ownership of end-to-end payroll processing across New Zealand and Fiji.

About the Role

Reporting into the Payroll Manager and working within a close-knit team of four, you'll be responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of payroll services across multiple pay cycles and jurisdictions. The role supports approximately 250 employees across New Zealand and Fiji and offers exposure to a range of payroll, reporting and compliance activities.

An immediate start is preferred to allow for a comprehensive handover before the incumbent commences parental leave.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-end processing of New Zealand monthly and fortnightly payroll
• Fiji bi-monthly payroll
• Maintain employee master data, including new starters, employee changes and terminations
• Calculate and process final payments and termination entitlements
• Prepare and submit New Zealand IRD Payday Filing requirements
• Manage payroll payments and statutory obligations
• Complete month-end payroll reporting and General Ledger reconciliations/postings
• Liaise with employees and internal stakeholders to resolve payroll queries
• Support continuous payroll operations and cross-functional team coverage as required
• Work across systems including MicroPay, Workday, SAP, One Advanced and Connex

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Proven end-to-end New Zealand payroll experience

• Strong working knowledge of MicroPay (essential)

• Experience with IRD Payday Filing and KiwiSaver administration

• Experience processing employee lifecycle transactions including starters, changes and terminations

• Exposure to month-end payroll reporting and GL posting activities

• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables
