Description
Employment: Full-time Permanent
Location: Wingfield, Adelaide
Salary: Negotiable, dependent on experience
Role Highlights
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Payroll Officer to join an established organisation undergoing a period of growth and operational change.
Working closely with an experienced Payroll Manager, you'll support the end-to-end payroll function across multiple entities, managing varying payroll cycles and ensuring accurate, timely processing.
With an upcoming transition to Employment Hero, this position offers the opportunity to take ownership of day-to-day payroll responsibilities while contributing to systems improvements and the ongoing development of the payroll function.
This role would suit someone confident in their existing payroll knowledge who is equally motivated to continue learning, developing and broadening their technical expertise.
Organisation
Our client is an established organisation offering a commercially focused, hands-on and supportive working environment.
With continued growth underway, the business is investing in its internal processes and systems to support its evolving operational requirements.
You'll join a close-knit team where initiative, collaboration and a willingness to learn are genuinely valued.
Responsibilities
- Support end-to-end payroll processing across multiple entities.
- Manage varying payroll cycles, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
- Collate, interpret and validate raw payroll data, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Review and process time and attendance information, ensuring accuracy before payroll finalisation.
- Interpret and apply relevant awards and enterprise agreements.
- Work closely with the Payroll Manager to maintain consistency and accuracy across the payroll function.
- Support the upcoming transition to Employment Hero.
- Assist with integrating additional payroll requirements into the centralised function.
- Identify opportunities to streamline payroll administration, improve processes and increase efficiency.
- Build effective working relationships with operational stakeholders and the broader finance team.
Candidate Profile
You will ideally bring 3-5 years of practical payroll experience, with demonstrated exposure to end-to-end payroll processing, including data collation, interpretation, validation and processing.
Strong time and attendance experience is particularly important, along with the ability to confidently interpret payroll information, identify discrepancies and maintain a high level of accuracy.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accurate payroll delivery.
- Confidence working across multiple payroll cycles and varying payroll requirements.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and perform effectively under pressure.
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to ask questions when required.
- A proactive, adaptable approach and genuine interest in developing their payroll expertise.
- Confidence learning new payroll systems and contributing to process improvements.
Previous experience with Employment Hero or payroll system implementations would be highly regarded but is not essential. The priority is finding someone who is systems-capable, adaptable and willing to learn.
What's on Offer
This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside a highly experienced Payroll Manager who is genuinely passionate about sharing their knowledge and supporting the development of others.
You'll gain exposure to a varied payroll environment, contribute to an upcoming system transition and play an important role in improving existing payroll processes.
With a supportive team and the potential to take on greater responsibility as the function evolves, this position offers an opportunity for someone looking to further develop their payroll career.
