PRIMARY PURPOSE
The Regional Business Development Manager develops relationships and identifies business development opportunities through industry engagement, networking, and market intelligence. Evaluates prospective opportunities, assesses alignment with organizational capabilities, and provides recommendations that support client engagement, territory growth, and business development objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Industry Events & Association Engagement
Represents the organization at industry conferences, trade shows, association meetings, and networking events within an assigned territory.
Increases company visibility and strengthens relationships within targeted industry sectors.
Participates in professional associations and industry communities.
Outbound Networking
Analyzes organizational priorities, service capabilities, and market opportunities to identify potential areas for business development engagement.
Evaluates prospective opportunities against established business development criteria and provides recommendations.
Documents findings and provides business development recommendations to internal stakeholders.
Business Development Analysis & Opportunity Development
Conducts discovery conversations to understand organizational capabilities, priorities, and alignment with prospective client needs.
Qualifies opportunities against established business development criteria.
Analyzes key findings and communicates insights to stakeholders.
Facilitates and advances business development opportunities.
Supports territory growth strategies through targeted outreach, lead generation, and relationship development efforts.
Manages and analyzes business development activities and opportunity data
Lead Nurturing & Relationship Development
Develops and executes follow-up plans for contacts established through events, conferences, and association activities.
Leverages multiple communication channels to cultivate relationships.
Builds and manages relationships with prospective clients.
Market & Competitive Intelligence
Researches and analyzes industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities.
Gathers intelligence from conferences, events, and professional networks.
Shares relevant market insights.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs other duties as assigned.
Travel as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Licensing
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field preferred.
Experience
Two (2) years of experience in business development, sales support, account management, client engagement, customer success, or similar role.
Skills & Knowledge
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to engage professionally with executives, clients, industry leaders, and stakeholders.
Relationship-building and active listening skills.
Familiarity with CRM platforms and sales engagement tools.
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM, HubSpot, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, or similar preferred.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Mental: Clear thinking, judgment, problem solving, ability to meet deadlines.
Physical: Computer keyboarding, travel as required.
Auditory/Visual: Hearing, vision and talking.

Actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and cost of specific location. For the jurisdiction noted in this job posting only, the range of starting pay for this role is $100,000 - $ 110,000.
