What you’ll be doing...
As our Senior Director Tech Services Sourcing, you will be accountable for the overall management and strategy of the Tech Services sourcing group. You will oversee a team of 30 highly skilled professionals located in Dublin, Ireland, responsible for negotiating and evaluating proposals and attaining Verizon’s overall best cost management. A key part of this role is collaboration with stakeholders across Verizon, including but not limited to Network and Technology, Verizon Business & Consumer Groups, Finance, Legal, Security, Policy, and Operations. This position will require a proactive leader with strong relationship-building capabilities, analytical and negotiating skills, and a mix of strategic and tactical thinking. This is a critical role within a high-visibility, dynamic, high-performing team based out of Verizon’s East Point Business Park office.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing a spend in excess of ten billion US dollars across Network & Technology categories including Design Construction Services, Outside Plant, and Enterprise Services.
Partnering with executive stakeholders to drive the strategic direction of vendor management, contract negotiations, and opportunities for greater leverage across Verizon.
Ensuring sourcing strategies result in roadmaps of savings, continuous improvement, and innovation while balancing short- and long-term business objectives.
Leading a team of Category Sourcing Experts and Associate Directors by providing career coaching and managing dynamic category strategies that maximise ROI.
Developing deep trust with stakeholders and supporting them through the annual budgeting cycle to address the impact on third-party spend.
Negotiating with key strategic suppliers to achieve maximum financial outcomes and overseeing transformation initiatives for better cost and process outcomes.
You’ll need to have:
A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Procurement/Supply Management, or equivalent work experience.
Extensive management experience and a proven record of meeting deadlines, managing multiple complex projects simultaneously, and working in a fast-paced, dynamic, individual, and team-orientated work environment.
A proven track record of leading high-performing, cross-functional teams.
Strong interpersonal and team-building capabilities, with the ability to build trust-based relationships and manage effectively.
A strategic leader and builder of both vision and bridges, with the ability to energise teams.

Broad-based knowledge of the telecommunications industry.
Relevant work experience working in a large cross-functional culture.
Comfort in working up and across the organisation – working with senior staff members and front-line employees.
Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking that results in new ideas that drive the business forward.
Diversified experience with an emphasis on negotiations, analysis, and relationship management.
A proven ability to influence decision-makers.
A demonstrated ability to multitask and be detail-orientated with respect to ensuring deadlines are met.
A proven record of performance, trusted professional credibility, and a track record of handling extremely confidential information appropriately.
