Overview
We are currently seeking a highly motivated, career minded individual who is keen to start or progress their career within Dunbia. This individual will work as part of our existing Health, Safety and Environmental team.
The Role
The successful candidate will be based at our Dungannon Primary Production Plant and will:
- Update & conduct site risk assessments across all operational areas and subjects.
- Assist in Health & Safety training for new employees.
- Carry out regular internal health & safety audits.
- Assist safety personnel in preparing safety manuals and guidelines.
- Collaborate with departmental heads in implementing new and existing health and safety processes.
- Assist management in undertaking accident and incident investigations with a focus on robust root cause analysis and corrective action plan close outs.
- Maintain electronic and paper-based Health & Safety related documentation.
- Assist in organisation of Health & Safety training for employees where required.
- Collaborate with management to monitor compliance and identify safety issues.
Responsibilities
The Person
The ideal candidate will have or demonstrate:
- 1 - 2 years' experience in a similar role. We would also welcome applications from candidates with greater experience in this field.
- Good interpersonal skills, ability to build good team and cross functional relationships so that all information, both written and verbal, is clearly communicated to the relevant stakeholders.
- A focus on continuous improvement, problem-solving and standardisation.
- Ability to plan, organise and prioritise tasks as necessary with timely follow up.
- Degree in Environmental/Occupational Health and Safety or related field (essential)
- Chartered or working towards IOSH chartership
- NEBOSH Certificate (essential)
- Knowledge of H&S legislation and understanding of compliance requirements (essential).
- Manual Handling Instructor or other instructor training would be beneficial.
- IT proficient in Microsoft Office and experience of other management systems.
