SUMMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Hands-on technical owner of Atalco’s server, virtualization, network, and cloud platforms across Gramercy, Louisiana and St. Ann, Jamaica. This is a generalist role in a small IT team: the successful candidate works across all four domains below, operates alongside managed service partners, and is accountable for executing the infrastructure and security controls defined in Atalco’s NIST CSF framework and IT & Cybersecurity Strategic Plan.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Core infrastructure

Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware vSphere and the in-flight Nutanix hyperconverged migration, Veeam backup and restore testing, server lifecycle and licensing.

Network & firewall

Cisco Catalyst switching and VLAN design, Meraki MX firewalls, dual-carrier WAN, site-to-site VPN between plants, wireless, and network documentation.

M365 & cloud

Microsoft 365 tenant administration, Entra ID identity lifecycle and hybrid sync, MFA and conditional access, Intune, and Azure-hosted workloads.

Cybersecurity

MTSA cybersecurity support under 33 CFR Part 101, vulnerability and EDR management.

SKILLS, COMPETENCIES and QUALIFICATIONS

All requirements in this section must be met to advance to interview.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. An associate degree plus two additional years of relevant experience, with a qualifying certification, may substitute.

Experience

Minimum five (5) years hands-on infrastructure administration in production, with demonstrated ownership of servers, virtualization, and networking — not ticket handling alone. Multi-site support experience required, including one site supported remotely. Manufacturing, industrial, energy, or other 24/7 operating environment strongly preferred.

Eligibility

Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screen, and obtain a TWIC within 30 days of hire. Valid driver’s license; occasional travel to St. Ann, Jamaica (5–10%).

Windows Server

Install, harden, patch, and troubleshoot Windows Server 2016–2022; PowerShell for routine administration and reporting. 4+ years

Active Directory

AD DS administration, replication troubleshooting, Group Policy design, DNS and DHCP. 4+ years

Virtualization

VMware vSphere/vCenter host and cluster management, vMotion, resource allocation, patching. Exposure to hyperconverged platforms (Nutanix, Azure Stack HCI, or similar). 3+ years

Backup & recovery

Enterprise backup administration (Veeam preferred): job design, replication, immutable/offsite copies, and performing documented restores. 3+ years

Networking

Cisco IOS switch configuration, VLANs, trunking, spanning tree, routing fundamentals, and structured troubleshooting from the physical layer up. 3+ years

Firewall & VPN

Firewall rule administration and site-to-site VPN on a commercial NGFW platform; Cisco Meraki is a direct match. 2+ years

Microsoft 365

Tenant administration across Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams via admin centers and PowerShell. 3+ years

Identity & endpoint

Entra ID administration, hybrid directory sync, MFA and conditional access; endpoint management via Intune or equivalent MDM. 2+ years

Security practice

Applied patch and vulnerability management, EDR, least privilege, and network segmentation; familiarity with NIST CSF, CIS Controls, or ISO 27001. 2+ years

Documentation

Produces network diagrams, runbooks, and change records that withstand audit review; prepared to show a redacted sample. Required

3. Preferred Qualifications

Technical Environment& program

• Nutanix AHV/Prism, or a completed HCI migration Industrial plant with OT / process control exposure

• Cisco Meraki dashboard at multi-site scale IT/OT segmentation orPurdue model implementation

• Veeam with immutable object storage NIST CSF or CIS Controls implementation and audit evidence

• Azure IaaS, networking, and cost management Maritime (MTSA / 33 CFR) or regulated-facility compliance

• Scripting beyond routine PowerShell Managing MSPs and holding them to SLA

• Monitoring and reporting Disaster recovery planning and live recovery exercises

Certification — preferred Valued

• CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA M365 Administrator Expert

• Microsoft AZ-104 (Azure Administrator) Nutanix NCP-MCI

Veeam VMCE

Note: certification is a tiebreaker, not a substitute for demonstrated hands-on capability. A candidate who can walk through a real failure they diagnosed and fixed outranks one with more certifications and less production ownership.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze and interpret information. Ability to write reports and basics business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, managers, clients, customers and the general public.
