The Supervisor of Compliance oversees the end-to-end development, integration, and operational management of technology compliance programs to drive IT compliance strategy and ensure robust execution across all systems. This role achieves full regulatory compliance through strategic alignment and expert team leadership by managing daily activities, supporting team members, and serving as the primary point of contact for escalating work-related issues.

Essential Functions:

• Provide "consultative" support to management based on awareness of industry security, cloud, and outsourcing trends.

• Recommend and enhance information security practices associated with vendor management programs, collaborating with key stakeholders to oversee execution, and assisting the front line with compliance-based decisions.

• Implement and improve information security controls in the acquisition, development, and delivery of automated business systems; provide SME support to audits; maintain quality service and technical knowledge; mentor team members; and oversee compliance inquiries.

• Responsible for oversight of projects and ensuring adequate resources are available.

• Provide monthly and quarterly metrics reports to leadership to ensure professional standards are being met.

• Continuously recommend and oversee the implementation of regularly upgraded and enhanced tools and processes.

• Create and maintain standard operating procedure (SOP) documentation as instructed by leadership.

• Follow and train on all safety procedures and requirements as needed.

• Identify resources and participants needed to achieve program goals.

• Maintain relationships with internal and external customers and organizational teams, encouraging positive business relationships.

• Provide expert consultation to internal and external clients, using area of expertise to assist in moving their goals and objectives forward.

• Responsible for oversight of compliance and audit management activities.

• Actively engage in improving leadership skills, attitudes, and knowledge, especially as related to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Attend training, development, and group training on topics of inclusive leadership.

A wide salary range is posted for this position and any job offer is based upon a salary analysis to comply with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. The salary analysis considers relevant experience, education, certifications, and state seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work. While most salary offers are made within the posted range, occasionally an offer is made below or above the posted range based upon this salary analysis.

This is a skills-based job announcement. The required minimum qualifications and/or education (if substituting for the proven experience, knowledge, and skills), are as follows:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position.

• Experience must include at least one year (1) performing at the level of Senior/Lead/Matrixed Leadership in a relevant position.

Substitutions:

• Additional appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis, but cannot completely substitute for these qualifications. 

• Training or Certification related to the work assigned to the position will be assigned credit towards substitution for experience and/or education, but cannot completely substitute for these qualifications. 

• If the minimum qualifications include a degree requirement, additional appropriate paid or unpaid experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certifications: CISA, CRISC, CISSP.

Conditions of Employment:

OIT employees must comply with any screening procedures in place at state agency locations where they might perform work. 

A pre-employment background check will be conducted as part of the selection process. Post-employment background checks will be required for specific agencies as business needs dictate, which may include a polygraph exam, fingerprint-based criminal history search, reference checks, and a drug test.

This position may require travel within the specified geographic area, and to locations across the state as needed. 

This position may require on-call duties as needed by the position.
