As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Veteran in Miami, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and respond to security-related concerns. You will support a secure environment through professional communication, exceptional customer service, and teamwork. Pay Rate: $22.26 / Hour
Job Schedule:
This is a full-time position. You can expect to work a minimum of 30 hours per week. The schedule for this position has not been assigned yet. If you are selected to move forward, your schedule will be determined as you progress through the hiring, onboarding, and training process. Your manager will work with you to assign a schedule based on business needs before your start date.
What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and members of the public while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities at government facilities.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document activity according to established procedures.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Monitor access points and verify authorization for individuals and vehicles entering restricted or controlled areas; assist with directing visitors in accordance with site procedures.
- Maintain required reports, incident documentation, and daily activity logs, and communicate relevant observations to supervisory staff and public-sector personnel.
Minimum Requirements:
- Possess an armed guard card or license.
- Possess a DD214 with an honorable discharge, an associate degree or 60 college credits, a police academy certificate, or a corrections academy certificate.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or a baton is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
