Security Officer - Armed

Position Overview

Citadel Security USA is seeking experienced Armed Security Officers for a Multi-Shift, Part-Time role supporting staffing needs throughout Central Mountain and Grand Junction area. This position is intended for officers who can adapt to changing schedules, respond when coverage is needed, and work effectively across different assignments.

The Armed Security Officer may be called upon to cover shifts, assist with mobile patrols, or support special assignments on short notice. Officers must be comfortable traveling between locations, working independently, and maintaining professional standards regardless of the assignment.

Travel between the Grand Junction office and assigned regional deployments is paid. A company vehicle is provided when conducting regional patrol duties.
 

Armed Security Coverage

• Fill open armed assignments when additional staffing is required.
• Respond to callout requests based on operational priorities and availability.
• Provide coverage for planned and short-notice security assignments.
• Maintain an alert and professional presence throughout each assignment.
• Follow post orders, client instructions, and company procedures.
• Remain prepared to transition between different assignments as operational needs change.
   

Mobile Patrol & Property Checks

• Operate a company-provided vehicle during authorized regional patrol assignments.
• Travel between designated locations according to assigned instructions.
• Conduct vehicle and foot inspections of buildings, gates, parking areas, and perimeter zones.
• Check for signs of unauthorized access, damage, safety concerns, or unusual activity.
• Maintain awareness of conditions while traveling between assigned locations.
• Report findings promptly to the appropriate supervisor or operations contact.
   

Security Response

• Respond to alarms, disturbances, emergencies, and reported security concerns.
• Evaluate situations carefully and take appropriate action within the scope of assigned duties.
• Notify supervisors, emergency personnel, or designated client contacts when additional assistance is needed.
• Help protect people, property, facilities, and other designated assets.
• Use professional communication to help manage challenging situations.
• Follow established emergency procedures and applicable laws during security-related responses.
   

Reports & Operational Communication

• Complete incident reports, activity logs, and other required documentation.
• Record patrol observations and relevant conditions using approved reporting systems.
• Communicate assignment changes, incidents, and operational concerns to the Operations team.
• Provide accurate information during shift handoffs and supervisor check-ins.
• Submit required reports promptly and ensure documentation is factual and complete.
   

Required Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to meet all applicable requirements for assigned armed duties.
• Ability to successfully complete required background screening.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision.
• Ability to travel throughout the Central Mountain region as well as in grand junction when assigned.
• Availability to accept callouts, open shifts, and special assignments based on operational needs.
• Ability to remain alert and professional during changing assignments and work conditions.
   

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous armed security experience.
• Military, law enforcement, or mobile patrol background.
• Experience working at high-security or critical infrastructure locations.
• Previous experience covering multiple security assignments.
• Strong decision-making and conflict-resolution skills.
• Familiarity with electronic reporting platforms and mobile documentation.
• Open availability for short-notice coverage.
• Experience operating patrol vehicles during security assignments.
