Job Description:
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Health and Safety Associate II is responsible for implementing and enforcing health and safety policies and procedures at designated field locations. This role ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and promotes a proactive safety culture. The Associate II acts as a key point of contact for safety-related matters on-site, providing guidance, training, and support to field personnel and serves as lead on special projects and other duties as requested.
HOURS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Monday – Friday 8 am – 5 pm, Responsible for 24/7 on call response
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Exhibits excellent communication and customer service skills for all staff, patients and/or visitors.
Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Conduct thorough investigations of accidents and incidents, identifying root causes
Performs safety and security patrols within the interior and exterior of assigned facility(s)
Completes daily site inspection reports that include safety, security and facilities
Coordinate emergency response activities in the event of accidents, incidents, or environmental releases.
Provide guidance and mentorship to field personnel on safety-related matters.
Promote a positive safety culture and encourage employee participation in safety initiatives.
Act as a liaison between field personnel and the Health and Safety Manager/Supervisor.
Immediately notifies Facilities senior leadership, police and/or the Fire Departments of any immediate safety, security and or fire emergencies
Responsible for ensuring the assigned facility(s) is locked & secure and for opening during scheduled business hours
Provides walking escorts as requested
Use of two-way radios to communicate as necessary with other staff
Assists with any minor emergency cleanups and debris removal
Assists with resolving conflicts or confrontations involving staff, visitors and or patients
Lead special projects
Must be able to respond to facility emergencies 24/7 as needed
Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required: High School Diploma or GED, 3-5 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably in a field environment
DRIVING REQUIRED: Yes
TRAVEL:
In county travel may be required: daily
Overnight travel required: occasionally
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Basic math skills required.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions.
Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
Ability to utilize Internet for resources.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Current State of Texas Driver License or if you live in another state, must be currently licensed in that state. If licensed in another state, must obtain a Texas Driver License within three (3) months of employment.
Liability insurance is required if an employee will operate a personal vehicle on Center property or for Center business. Must be insurable by Center’s liability carrier if employee operates a Center vehicle or drives personal car on Center business. Must have an acceptable driving record.
Must have and maintain a “clean” Texas Motor Vehicle Driving Record
