Job Summary
Shambaugh & Son is seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of vehicles, trucks, and construction equipment. In this hands-on role, you will diagnose mechanical issues, perform preventive maintenance, complete repairs, and help ensure our fleet remains safe, reliable, and ready to support operations. The ideal candidate has automotive or diesel mechanic experience, strong troubleshooting abilities, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, steering, braking, and drivetrain systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment.
- Conduct inspections and identify service needs before breakdowns occur.
- Test drive vehicles to verify repairs and performance.
- Maintain accurate service records and work orders.
- Manage parts inventory and help keep the shop organized and safe.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure vehicles and equipment are operating at peak performance.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience as an Automotive Technician, Diesel Mechanic, or Fleet Mechanic.
- Experience diagnosing and repairing vehicles and equipment.
- Valid driver's license required.
- ASE certifications are a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and dependable attendance.
- Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.
