Program Manager, Marketing Operations – PMO
Position Summary
Tarkett is seeking a highly organized and strategic Program Manager, Marketing Operations, to serve as a key member of the Marketing Project Management Office (PMO). This role will translate marketing priorities into executable programs, improve visibility across the project portfolio, and help ensure critical initiatives are delivered with clear ownership, effective governance, disciplined planning, and measurable business outcomes.
The Program Manager will partner closely with PMO leadership and cross-functional teams to manage complex programs, establish consistent PMO practices, identify risks and dependencies, and improve how work moves through the Marketing organization.
Key Responsibilities
Program and Portfolio Management
- Lead planning and execution of complex, cross-functional marketing programs from initiation through completion.
- Translate strategic priorities into program plans, milestones, owners, dependencies, and success measures.
- Maintain an integrated view of the Marketing portfolio, including status, timing, resources, risks, dependencies, and key decisions.
- Partner with leadership to prioritize initiatives based on business impact, urgency, available capacity, and strategic alignment.
- Identify conflicts across programs and facilitate decisions regarding scope, sequencing, resources, and timelines.
- Proactively escalate risks and programs requiring leadership attention.
PMO Governance and Operating Rhythm
- Help develop and continuously improve Marketing PMO standards, governance, processes, and tools.
- Establish consistent approaches for project intake, scoping, prioritization, status reporting, risk management, change control, and project closeout.
- Facilitate regular portfolio reviews, program reviews, and leadership operating meetings.
- Prepare executive-level reporting highlighting progress, risks, decisions, resource constraints, and recommended actions.
- Maintain decision logs, risk and issue registers, action trackers, and other PMO governance tools.
- Drive accountability for commitments, milestones, and decisions.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Coordinate programs involving Marketing and stakeholders across Sales, Product, Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, and other functions.
- Build alignment across teams with competing objectives, priorities, and constraints.
- Facilitate working sessions to resolve issues, clarify responsibilities, and drive decisions.
- Communicate program status, risks, dependencies, and changes clearly to stakeholders at multiple levels.
- Influence outcomes without relying on direct authority.
Resource, Budget, and Risk Management
- Provide visibility into resource allocation and identify capacity constraints or competing priorities.
- Monitor project spending and proactively identify financial risks or potential overruns.
- Identify program risks, issues, and dependencies and develop mitigation plans with project teams.
- Escalate significant risks and decisions with clear recommendations and supporting information.
Marketing Operations and Continuous Improvement
- Evaluate Marketing workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, collaboration, and scalability.
- Develop templates, playbooks, dashboards, and tools that support consistent project execution.
- Promote disciplined use of project and portfolio data to improve planning and decision-making.
- Support adoption and optimization of project management and workflow platforms.
- Leverage automation and AI-enabled capabilities where appropriate to streamline reporting, documentation, workflow management, and routine administration.
- Facilitate lessons learned and continuously improve PMO practices.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Project Management, Operations, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Strong experience managing complex projects or programs involving multiple functions and stakeholders.
- Experience in project management, program management, marketing operations, PMO operations.
- Strong knowledge of scope, schedule, risk, resource, dependency, and budget management.
- Experience developing project plans, portfolio reporting, executive updates, and governance processes.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and facilitation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Preferred
- Experience with supporting product launches, campaigns, digital initiatives, events, creative development, or sales enablement.
- Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
- PMP, PgMP, Agile, Lean, or similar certification.
- Experience with workflow automation or AI-enabled productivity tools.
Role Profile
This role is best suited for someone who can move comfortably between program execution, portfolio management, executive communication, problem solving, and process improvement. The successful candidate will not simply track work—they will create clarity around priorities, identify execution risks, connect teams across organizational boundaries, and help Marketing deliver its most important initiatives with greater speed, discipline, and predictability.
