GDIT has an opportunity for a Senior Technical Advisor who will focus on strategic technology solutions for Veterans Affairs portfolio of programs to set vision, build strategy, and evaluate trends in emerging technologies that will lead and grow the Federal Health sector. This executive will work with Federal Health Sector leadership to develop and guide GDIT's strategic approach to growth and operational delivery. The Veterans Affairs (VA) portfolio includes a variety of programs comprised of building and supporting innovative and advanced technical solutions and customer missions - from software development to large-scale infrastructure management, cloud and cyber security solutions, mission support, and data analytics including AI/ML. This person will partner closely with other Federal Health leaders who oversee our other business areas for Military Health, NIH, CMS, and others areas of HHS; combining for over $1B in Federal Health business. MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a Vice President, Technical Advisor the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of the Federal Health community. You will play a crucial role in driving the technical strategy and contributing to the overall growth of the Veterans Affairs portfolio.
Provide technical and strategic leadership for a portfolio of programs in software development, enterprise technology solutions and missions service the foes, fostering a culture of innovation and best ideas
Develop and foster trusted relationships with senior federal executives and mission stakeholders at the Department of Veterans Affairs
Partner with clients to oversee programs from inception through completion; ensuring that technical performance of GDIT programs or subsystems of major programs exceeds expectations and drive innovation into our existing programs
Identify opportunities to expand program scope and deliver additional value to customers and support strategic account planning and long-term engagement initiatives
Work on complex issues where analysis of situations requires an in-depth knowledge of the GDIT’s resources and mission needs, while bringing thorough understanding of the VA systems landscape
Participate in corporate development of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people; developing the next generation of leaders, tools and technology to meet future needs
Interact with executives from across Federal Health division on matters of significance to our customers
Provide support and guidance as needed to Account Directors, Program Managers, Solutions Architects, and Business Development Executives in Fed Health division
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
The Federal Health Technical Advisor must have:
Bachelor's degree required; Master's Degree in a technical discipline desired
15+ years of progressive leadership experience delivering large-scale federal IT programs with demonstrated success managing portfolios exceeding $100M in annual contract value
10+ years of experience leading software engineering organizations utilizing Agile, SAFe, DevSecOps, and product-centric delivery models
Progressive experience through engineering, product management, and technical program execution and delivery
Experience managing and leading complex federal contracts, subcontractor teams, and geographically dispersed workforces
Experience in Federal contracting (a combination of Federal service and/or Contracting experience will apply), to include significant in-depth experience managing Veterans Affairs programs, coupled with a deep customer intimacy
Experience managing Federal Government projects/contracts to include IT Projects delivering transformative technology programs using digital service techniques
Experience with federal proposal process and execution
Strong leadership experience, to include directing multiple large teams and a dynamic mission-focused team for delivery and growth
Ability to travel to program sites and customer meetings as needed is required
Location: Hybrid (at least 3 days/week in office) to GDIT Headquarters in Falls Church, VA
