Description
DNO Norge is looking for an experienced Reservoir Engineer to join our Subsurface team in Stavanger.
You will lead reservoir engineering activities that support asset performance, development opportunities and investment decisions. Working closely with colleagues across subsurface, exploration, and drilling and wells, you will provide clear technical recommendations, represent DNO in licence partnerships and help develop the expertise of the wider team.
About the role
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Plan and deliver reservoir engineering studies and technical programmes for assigned assets.
- Monitor and evaluate production and injection performance and prepare production forecasts and reserves reporting.
- Perform reservoir simulation studies, pressure transient analysis, well performance assessments and decline curve analysis.
- Provide production profiles for economic evaluations, including licence applications and exploration drill-or-drop decisions.
- Assess subsurface risks and contribute to technical evaluations and assurance of new opportunities.
- Prepare and review reservoir engineering input to well programmes, including well test planning.
- Present technical findings and recommendations to internal teams, joint venture partners and regulatory authorities, leverage influence and represent DNO on partnership committees.
- Mentor colleagues, share technical knowledge and improve working methods and processes.
Qualifications and experience
We are looking for a candidate with:
- Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience, with extensive experience across several producing basins on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
- Preferably a master’s degree in Reservoir Engineering, Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong technical expertise across reservoir engineering disciplines, including pressure transient analysis, material balance, reservoir simulation, PVT modelling, decline curve analysis and special core analysis.
- A thorough understanding of flow in porous media, fluid behaviour and reservoir drive mechanisms.
- Extensive experience with dynamic modelling software, preferably Petrel-RE, Eclipse, Intersect or the PETEX suite.
- A broad understanding of related disciplines, including geology, geophysics, drilling, completions and economics.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- A team player with strong communication skills.
- Experience from other Northwest European or international producing basins is valued.
- Experience in applying artificial intelligence, machine learning and data analytics to reservoir engineering challenges—such as production forecasting, history matching, surveillance and optimisation—is also an advantage.
What we offer
You will play a central role in driving DNO’s success, guided by our values: First, Fair and Firm. We offer varied responsibilities that challenge your technical expertise and encourage creative problem-solving, within an international “One Team” culture characterised by professional pride, open dialogue and a friendly social environment.
You will benefit from a competitive compensation package, including salary, bonus schemes, and comprehensive pension and insurance plans. We also offer:
- One additional week of annual leave
- Flexible working hours
- Health and wellness benefits, including gym facilities and naprapathy services
