Description
Your Role as Payroll Specialist
Join our People & Culture team as a Payroll Officer, where you'll support the delivery of end-to-end payroll services for our workforce. Working closely with the Payroll Team Lead & Manager, you'll ensure payroll is processed accurately and efficiently, maintain payroll data integrity, and provide responsive support to employees and leaders. This role offers the opportunity to develop your payroll expertise while contributing to a positive employee experience.
- Assist with processing the fortnightly payroll including payment of wages, superannuation and leave using the Human Resource Information System (HRIS).
- Establish and process new staff and various termination payments.
- Interpret and provide advice on Enterprise Bargaining Agreements, Awards and other employment and payroll legislation.
- Assist with the running and analysis of fortnightly, monthly and end of financial year reports and reconciliations.
- Maintain the HRIS database including updating employee personal, pay and leave records.
- Prepare letters and correspondence for employee pay matters as required.

What We’re Looking For
- Demonstrated knowledge of payroll operations and practices, and ability to process a payroll in an accurate and timely manner.
- Demonstrated knowledge and use of Human Resource/Payroll Information Systems.
- Sound knowledge of taxation, superannuation and payroll legislation and ability to interpret Awards and Agreements.
- Well-developed organisational, communication and team work skills.
Essential Requirements
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status (or as required by legislation and WMQ policy)
- Relevant probity checks required by legislation and WMQ Limited policy.
- Current Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel for work
