Description
The Sourcing Specialist's primary role is to promote and implement tactical and strategic sourcing activities while proactively managing assigned commodities, supply base, and contract management. They construct RFx’s and are responsible for negotiating products or services from strategic suppliers. Additionally, they assist the contract management processes to ensure compliance, mitigate risks, and maximize value. They are also responsible for establishing and maintaining supplier relationships to seek maximum value for the company, including total cost of ownership. This position reports to the Sourcing Manager and is based in downtown Houston, TX. Hybrid work schedule is an option for remote work on Mondays and Fridays. Level and salary commensurate with experience.
Essential Job Functions
Applies deep SCM and upstream knowledge to manage complex issues and guide decision-making
Leads projects, manages risks, & drives execution of cross-functional business plans
Mentors peers and builds team collaboration through coaching and partnership
Communicates effectively and tailors messaging across stakeholders and audiences
Drives process improvements through analysis, innovation, & cross-functional coordination
Maintains regulatory compliance and internal controls to ensure operational integrity
Applies sector knowledge & tools to enhance performance & continuous improvement
Oversees critical procurement efforts, leading complex negotiations, supplier engagement, and alternative sourcing
Facilitates strategic sourcing events and develops RFx documents to ensure quality and cost-effective supplier outcomes
Assists in the contract management process and ensures timely feedback on commercial terms to the contracts team
Applies advanced SRM and leads cross-functional communication and supplier negotiations
Conducts detailed pricing and market analysis to inform sourcing decisions
Develops logistics processes and cost models; supports operational and financial decision-making
Suggest process enhancements or cost-saving opportunities identified during routine activities
Embrace and promote the use of AI and digital tools withing the sourcing function – identifying opportunities to apply AI tools to spend analysis, research, contract review and routine transactional work
Perform additional duties as assigned based on the needs of the location or company.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related discipline
2+ years of expertise in strategic sourcing and contract management within an Operator environment
RFx execution, ERP entry, vendor portals, reconciliation & system accuracy
Oilfield materials/fleet familiarity; ability to lead training, solve issues, and ensure data compliance
Proficient in Power BI and data analytics, with a strong ability to create insightful visualizations and reports that drive informed decision-making
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional attention to detail
Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other relevant programs
Ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment; flexible with the demands of a growing company
Ability to meet deadlines
