JOB PURPOSE
- Carelon Global Solutions India is seeking Assistant Manager PMO
- The role holder will be responsible for supporting enterprise project governance, portfolio management, business performance tracking, and strategic decision-making. This role acts as a critical bridge between project teams, business stakeholders, finance partners, and leadership by ensuring accurate reporting, effective governance, resource optimization, financial oversight, and data-driven insights. The incumbent drives PMO excellence through disciplined project execution, portfolio analytics, risk management, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
JOB RESPONSIBILITY
Project Portfolio Governance & Delivery Support
- Support the planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of multiple projects across business functions.
- Ensure adherence to project management methodologies, governance standards, and organizational policies.
- Monitor project milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, and action items to ensure timely delivery.
- Establish project review cadence and facilitate governance meetings with stakeholders.
- Maintain portfolio dashboards and provide consolidated project health status updates.
- Track key project deliverables and ensure alignment with strategic business objectives.
- Assist project managers in developing project plans, RAID logs, communication plans, and status reports.
PMO Operations & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Act as a central coordination point between business leaders, project teams, technology partners, operations teams, finance stakeholders, and executive leadership.
- Facilitate effective communication and stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage project governance forums, steering committee meetings, and leadership reviews.
- Coordinate cross-functional initiatives while ensuring timely resolution of dependencies and roadblocks.
- Partner with business leaders to translate strategic goals into measurable project outcomes.
- Support enterprise transformation programs and organizational change initiatives.
Data Management, Validation & Reporting
- Own PMO reporting processes and ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of project data.
- Perform detailed validation of project metrics, resource forecasts, budget data, timelines, and performance reports before leadership reviews.
- Develop automated reporting mechanisms and dashboard solutions using Power BI, Excel, Power Query, Power Automate, and related reporting tools.
- Create executive dashboards highlighting project performance, resource utilization, financial health, risks, and benefits realization.
- Identify data anomalies and proactively investigate root causes impacting project reporting.
- Establish controls and validation mechanisms to improve reporting reliability and consistency.
Strategic Insights & Leadership Reporting
- Analyze project portfolio data to generate meaningful business insights and recommendations for senior leadership.
- Develop executive-level presentations highlighting project performance, delivery trends, risks, opportunities, and strategic priorities.
- Translate complex project and operational data into actionable business narratives.
- Support quarterly business reviews, strategic planning sessions, budget reviews, and leadership presentations.
- Identify emerging risks, delivery constraints, and improvement opportunities through predictive and trend analysis.
- Partner with leadership teams to support fact-based decision making.
Financial Management & Business Acumen
- Support project budget planning, forecasting, tracking, and variance analysis.
- Monitor project spend against approved budgets and identify areas of financial risk.
- Perform cost-benefit analysis, ROI assessments, productivity tracking, and business case evaluations.
- Assist in financial planning activities including annual operating plans and project investment reviews.
- Track project benefits realization and quantify business value achieved through project initiatives.
- Support workforce planning exercises by evaluating staffing requirements, utilization, productivity, and capacity models.
- Collaborate with finance teams to ensure accurate budget management and reporting.
Resource & Capacity Management
- Support resource demand forecasting and workforce planning activities across project portfolios.
- Monitor resource allocation, utilization, capacity, and productivity metrics.
- Identify resource constraints and recommend optimization strategies.
- Prepare capacity planning models to support project prioritization and staffing decisions.
- Provide visibility into resource requirements and forecast future staffing needs.
Risk, Compliance & Controls
- Maintain portfolio-level risk and issue management processes.
- Monitor compliance with PMO standards, organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and audit expectations.
- Support governance audits and maintain evidence repositories.
- Identify project control gaps and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Establish reporting controls and quality checks to improve governance maturity.
- Track action plans and ensure timely closure of audit and compliance findings.
Process Excellence & Continuous Improvement
- Drive PMO process standardization and operational excellence initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve project execution efficiency through automation and process redesign.
- Implement best practices, templates, governance frameworks, and reporting standards.
- Support Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid project management methodologies where applicable.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives that improve stakeholder experience, delivery performance, reporting accuracy, and project outcomes.
QUALIFICATION
- Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Project Management, or related field.
- Specialized training, certifications, and/or other special requirements: Understanding of Enterprise Program Management (EPM) / Project & Portfolio Management (PPM) Tool, understanding of project management frameworks like Agile / SCRUM.
- Master’s degree in business administration/Operations or a related field + Certification in Project Management e.g., PMP, CAPM will be preferred.
EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's /Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Operations Management, or related field.
- PMP, CAPM, PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in PMO, Project Management, Business Operations, Business Analytics, or Strategy roles.
- Experience with Power BI, Excel automation, project management tools (JIRA, MS Project, SmartSheet, Clarity, Planview, ServiceNow, etc.).
- Experience in executive reporting, portfolio management, financial analysis, and governance.
