The Best Bees Company is currently looking for a Business Development Representative located in Boston to join our growing sales team and help further our mission of promoting pollinator health!
Best Bees is a unique company with a mission and a culture to match. Business developers play a direct role in supporting our research and help to grow pollinator populations with each closed sale. Our business developers help to roll out new offerings, cultivate corporate accounts, and grow the business within target markets.
Position Summary
The Residential Sales & Business Development Representative plays a critical role in driving both immediate revenue and future company growth. This inside sales role owns the residential inbound sales process from initial inquiry through close while also supporting the corporate sales team by identifying, researching, and engaging prospective commercial clients.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is interested in developing a career in professional sales. As the representative gains experience and demonstrates success, there is a clear path to grow into larger commercial sales opportunities and corporate account management.
Location and Hours
- Full Time
- Boston, MA in-person presence required
- Hybrid schedule of 1-2 days WFH offered based on performance
- Training in person for 8 weeks 5 days / week
Primary Responsibilities
Residential Sales (Approximately 70%)
- Respond promptly to inbound residential inquiries
- Conduct client consultations by phone and video
- Educate homeowners on Best Bees' programs and services
- Prepare and present proposals
- Manage follow-up activities through close
- Maintain accurate CRM records
- Meet or exceed monthly residential sales goals
Corporate Business Development (Approximately 20%)
- Research prospective corporate clients and target markets
- Build and maintain outbound prospect lists
- Execute outbound email and phone campaigns
- Schedule qualified discovery meetings for the corporate sales team
- Maintain prospect activity within the CRM
- Support marketing campaigns with outbound follow-up
Sales Operations (Approximately 10%)
- Maintain CRM accuracy
- Assist with reporting and pipeline management
- Support sales process improvements
- Collaborate with the Client Services and Account Management teams to ensure a seamless customer experience
Success Measures
- Residential revenue attainment
- Residential close rate
- Residential speed to lead response
- Qualified corporate meetings booked
- Outbound activity completed
- CRM accuracy and data quality
Desired Qualifications
- 1–2 years of sales, customer success, hospitality, or business development experience
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities simultaneously
- Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred)
- Interest in sustainability, environmental science, or conservation is a plus
