Job Summary:
To grow OCBC’s Hong Kong equities franchise by delivering sustainable business growth, strong client outcomes, and operational excellence while maintaining the highest standards of regulatory compliance, governance, and risk management.
Main Responsibilities:
Responsible for the securities business activities of OCBC Securities Brokerage Hong Kong Limited (OSB) in relation to Type 1 (Dealing in Securities) and Type 2 (Dealing in Futures Contracts) regulated activities.
In this capacity, the role will:
- Serve as Deputy Head, GM Equities – Hong Kong, OCBC Bank (Hong Kong) and Deputy Head, OCBC Securities Brokerage Hong Kong Limited (OSB).
- Lead the strategic direction, business management, and growth of the equities and brokerage franchise across retail and institutional client segments.
- Drive revenue growth, profitability, and the achievement of business objectives and KPIs.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, corporate governance standards, and internal policies.
- Deputize the Managing Director, when required, to ensure the effective management and continuity of the business.
Manager-in-Charge (MIC) Responsibilities – OSB
Overall Management Oversight
- Oversee the securities and futures brokerage business in accordance with OCBC Group’s strategic objectives and risk appetite.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, licensing requirements, and market conduct standards.
- Maintain effective governance, risk management, compliance, and control frameworks across the business.
- Coordinate with other Managers-in-Charge (MICs) to ensure effective oversight and management of the licensed corporation.
- Foster a strong culture of integrity, accountability, fair dealing, and prudent risk management.
Business Management and Operations
- Lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of the securities and futures brokerage business.
- Establish and maintain effective business processes, operating controls, and service standards across the client lifecycle, from order execution through settlement and post-trade support.
- Supervise dealing activities and staff conduct to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal requirements.
- Monitor trading activities to mitigate market misconduct, operational risks, and reputational risks.
- Collaborate with relevant business, operations, technology, risk, compliance, and product teams to deliver seamless pre- and post-trade solutions for clients.
Business Development
- Drive the growth and profitability of the retail equities business and support the build-out of the institutional equities franchise.
- Expand the share margin financing business and enhance the overall product offering.
- Develop strategic partnerships across the OCBC Group, including Consumer Financial Services - Premier Banking, Bank of Singapore, Enterprise Banking, and other distribution channels to grow client acquisition and business penetration.
- Lead the development of new capabilities and products, including digital trading initiatives, leveraged investment products, and tokenized asset solutions for the Hong Kong market.
- Identify and execute strategic growth opportunities that strengthen OCBC’s competitive position in the Hong Kong equities market.
