Job Description:

North American Marketing Strategy & Operations enables Marketing to deliver stronger business and customer outcomes with clarity, discipline and speed. The team integrates strategic planning, performance management, operational governance, colleague enablement and cross-functional execution to advance Marketing priorities across Canada and the United States.

Job Profile Summary

The Senior Manager, North American Marketing Strategic Initiatives will lead complex, high-priority initiatives that advance Marketing’s strategy and operating agenda across Canada and the United States. Reporting to the Vice President, North American Marketing Strategy & Operations, Credit Cards, Loyalty and Personal Lending, this role will serve as a trusted strategic partner to senior leaders—connecting priorities across markets and translating executive direction into clear decisions, actionable plans and measurable outcomes.

The successful candidate will bring strategic insight, sound business judgment and exceptional execution discipline. They will be skilled at framing ambiguous issues, synthesizing complex information, influencing cross-functional partners and sustaining momentum across multiple initiatives. Equally comfortable shaping enterprise-level strategy and driving detailed delivery, they will consistently produce work at an executive standard.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead the definition, planning and delivery of high-priority initiatives supporting the Global CMO and Marketing leadership, with accountability for scope, outcomes, milestones, dependencies, risks and executive decision points.
  • Translate strategic direction into practical roadmaps, workback plans, governance routines and measurable deliverables.
  • Integrate Canadian and U.S. perspectives to develop cohesive North American recommendations while accounting for market, regulatory and operating-model differences.
  • Anticipate emerging issues, opportunities and interdependencies; develop options and recommendations that enable timely, well-informed decisions.
  • Manage multiple complex initiatives concurrently, adapting plans as priorities evolve while maintaining quality, pace and accountability.
  • Serve as a trusted strategic partner on high-impact, sensitive and time-critical priorities.
  • Develop clear, concise and executive-ready presentations, briefing notes, recommendations, communications and meeting materials.
  • Synthesize data, financial information, stakeholder perspectives and external context into compelling narratives, clear points of view and recommended paths forward.
  • Establish disciplined operating rhythms for priority work, including agendas, decision logs, action tracking, escalation and follow-through.
  • Coordinate enterprise and North American initiatives requiring consistent framing, integrated planning and disciplined implementation across multiple teams.
  • Maintain an enterprise-wide view of related initiatives, proactively connecting work to reduce duplication, strengthen sequencing and improve outcomes.
  • Take ownership of a portfolio of complex strategic initiatives with significant functional, North American or enterprise impact.

Leadership Profile

  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy in an environment where priorities, scope and solutions may not be fully defined.
  • Provide strategic advice and decision support to executive audiences, drawing on strong business judgment and deep organizational awareness.
  • Integrate cross-functional processes and perspectives, balancing near-term delivery with medium- and longer-term objectives.
  • Influence leaders and partners across multiple levels and functions, often without formal authority.
  • Maintain a longer-range perspective while demonstrating the attention to detail required for high-quality execution.
  • Live the TD Way

Experience & Education

  • Undergraduate degree, relevant professional designation or equivalent experience required; graduate degree is an asset.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in strategy, business management, marketing, transformation, consulting, executive enablement or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional initiatives from strategy through implementation.
  • Strong understanding of Marketing strategy, planning and operating models; financial-services experience is an asset.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft executive-ready narratives and facilitate senior-level discussions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to structure ambiguous issues, assess trade-offs and develop practical recommendations.
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships, influence without authority and align stakeholders with competing priorities.
  • Strong project and portfolio management discipline, with the ability to prioritize multiple high-profile deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional judgment, discretion, resilience and attention to detail.
