Role Summary
The SMTS drives innovation and leads technical projects by owning major portions of the wet process technology roadmap, coordinating cross‑site pathfinding, and leading multi‑functional taskforces to improve new node yield and device roadmaps. Operates as a senior technical leader who can align wet process roadmaps across teams and lead critical initiatives and taskforces.
Main Responsibilities
- Drive process and chemistry pathfinding portion of the NAND Process Technology Roadmap.
- Collaborate with partner organizations and TD fabs to coordinate pathfinding activities and align PD resource allocation.
- Own critical taskforces and lead multi‑functional teams to drive new tech node yield and device roadmap improvements.
- Mentor engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning and career development.
Other Responsibilities
- Mentor engineers through structured development; build SME pipelines; publish internal papers/BKMs and present to senior leadership; uphold Micron’s technical leadership expectations
- Integrates AI assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency, quality, or effectiveness, exercising sound judgment and complying with organizational standards and legal requirements.
- Contributes to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, testing, and sharing AI enabled enhancements within one’s scope of work.
Candidate Profile
Minimum Qualifications / Experience
- PhD ≥12 yrs, or Master’s ≥15 yrs, of relevant experience in
Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or related field,
- Strong understanding of process technology development business processes/strategy, surface science and analytic methods related to material properties, and rational risk assessment.
- Strong record of technical contributions, publications, or patents in relevant domains
Must‑have Technical Skills
- Possess a deep understanding of the process technologies such as Vapor etch, wet strip, dry strip, selective chemical etching, etc.
- Familiarity with electrical evaluation methods and fab metrology tools (e.g., CD‑SEM, thickness measurement, particle counters).
- DOE / SPC and data analysis systems (e.g., Y3) to analyze experimental outcomes.
- Working knowledge of memory process flow (planar + vertical NAND context).
