Job Title: Product Owner – Digital Payments
Employment type: Contract (On-site)
Contract length: 12 months
Location: Casablanca, Morocco
PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT
Own assigned digital-banking products end to end from a business perspective, covering product vision, value proposition, eligibility, pricing, partnerships, customer journeys, roadmap, backlog, delivery, launch readiness, and post-release performance.
Core Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Define the product vision, MVP roadmap, priority features, customer journeys, and delivery milestones.
- Prioritize scope based on customer value, business impact, technical feasibility, and regulatory constraints.
- Define product rules including pricing, fees, limits, eligibility, exceptions, and controls.
- Align requirements and approvals with Risk, Compliance, Finance, Operations, Technology, Data, and Security stakeholders.
- Build and prioritize the squad backlog; supervise business requirements and translation into user stories.
- Participate in agile rituals and manage trade-offs among scope, time, quality, feasibility, and business value.
- Define and monitor product KPIs across acquisition, activation, conversion, usage, revenue, cost, satisfaction, adoption, and incidents.
- Use customer feedback, performance data, incidents, and drop-off analysis to improve journeys and product performance.
- Coordinate dependencies with other squads and support functional testing, release readiness, production rollout, and post-launch adoption.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Experience as a Product Owner, product manager, strategy consultant, senior business analyst, or agile-delivery professional.
- Background in a major technology company, fintech, consulting firm, or financial-services organization is preferred.
- Demonstrated ownership of multiple products or squads and the ability to work across business and technology teams.
- Strong knowledge of digital customer journeys, product economics, business requirements, and KPI-led optimization.
- The ability to work onsite in Morocco throughout the assignment.
Mandatory Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- Previous experience within Banking, Digital Payment & Card solutions, or the FinTech industry.
- Regional experience, including working in a faced-paced matrix organisation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; English, French and/or Arabic capability is advantageous.
Preferred Skills:
- The ability to analyse data, troubleshoot payment issues, optimize processes, and make data-driven decisions.
- Good understanding of payment systems, digital platforms, system workflows, security basics, and industry technologies.
- An understanding of regional regulations across financial services or payment networks.
