EDUCATION • Degree or equivalent work experience equally preferable. • Undergraduate degree in statistics, operations research, data science, computer science or in a science, technology, engineering, finance, risk management, economics, accounting, management information systems, or related field and/or math (STEM) discipline. CERTIFICATIONS • [Include information as needed.] WORK EXPERIENCE • Some prior experience designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale business intelligence (BI) and data visualization programs • Experience in highly distributed complex business and technology environments • Experience influencing non-technical aspects of technology change (e.g., business and operational architectures) • Ability to work effectively with technical, customer, and functional teams FUNCTIONAL SKILLS • Ability to translate complex technical designs and terminologies into simplified business language • Experience with enterprise dashboard and reporting platforms (e.g., Tableau, Workiva, QlikView, Oracle Business Intelligence, or Business Objects, etc.) with very large data sets • Understanding of a wide range of analytics, BI, and big data technologies • Exposure to metadata process, data lineage, and traceability repositories and technologies • Exposure to Hadoop or other big data and cloud computing technology is a plus FOUNDATIONAL SKILLS • Communicates effectively • Identifies multiple paths to success through the development of analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills • Exercises sound judgement and strives for continuous improvement • Demonstrates optimism, resilience, flexibility, and openness to others' ideas • Learns while doing • Actively listens and asks thoughtful questions • Leverages available technology to achieve efficiency and results • Engages inclusively and with intent • Always acts with integrity RESPONSIBILITIES • Support consultative relationships with key business stakeholders, proactively identifying and addressing BI needs to meet business needs, along with regulatory and compliance requirements • Perform data preparation work (e.g., source, scrub, mine, and integrate relevant data sources) needed for the delivery of BI and data visualization solutions • Support proof of concept projects to test and adopt emerging BI and/or advanced data visualization tools • Assist with the delivery of BI reporting and dashboards as directed • Contribute to implementation and maintenance of key performance indicators (KPIs) to support operational efficiency • Provide support to convert ideas and business needs into meaningful report/dashboard designs and data requirements • Support the partnership with business stakeholders to streamline and automate existing reporting, crucial for meeting regulatory and compliance requirements • Support the development of a standard process for defining data requirements, managing governance, and creating BI reports and dashboards for use throughout the organization
