  • Manage the full product lifecycle, including product introduction, market development, portfolio optimisation, and end-of-life planning.
  • Identify new products, services, and business opportunities based on customer needs, market developments, and emerging technology trends.
  • Evaluate the commercial viability and market potential of new products and solutions before introduction.
  • Monitor product performance and recommend appropriate actions to improve sales, profitability, and market positioning.

Sales Enablement and Business Development

  • Provide strategic product direction and commercial support to the sales team to drive revenue, gross profit, and product adoption.
  • Work closely with the sales team to develop customer propositions, product positioning, and sales strategies for target market segments.
  • Support sales opportunities through product presentations, solution positioning, pricing inputs, and engagement with suppliers or partners.
  • Conduct regular product briefings and training sessions to strengthen the sales team’s product knowledge and selling capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with channel partners to expand market reach and increase market share.

Revenue, Pricing and Profitability

  • Achieve company and supplier targets for the assigned product portfolio, including revenue, margin, volume, and market development objectives.
  • Develop and manage pricing strategies, promotional programmes, and margin guidelines to maintain competitiveness and profitability.
  • Review product pricing and commercial performance regularly, taking into consideration supplier costs, market conditions, and competitive positioning.
  • Negotiate competitive pricing, rebates, incentives, credit arrangements, and commercial terms with suppliers.
  • Track sales performance against targets and implement corrective actions where required.

Supplier and Partner Management

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers, principals, distributors, and strategic partners.
  • Serve as the primary point of coordination for product plans, sales targets, forecasts, marketing programmes, and partner initiatives.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with suppliers and internal stakeholders to assess performance, address gaps, and identify growth opportunities.
  • Maintain strategic alliances with relevant partners to strengthen the company’s product and service offerings.
  • Ensure that supplier programmes, incentives, and marketing development funds are effectively managed and utilised in accordance with the applicable requirements.

Go-to-Market and Marketing

  • Develop and implement go-to-market plans in collaboration with sales, marketing, and other relevant departments.
  • Plan and execute marketing campaigns to increase product awareness, generate demand, and support sales objectives.
  • Organise and manage product launches, trade fairs, customer events, roadshows, seminars, and partner activities.
  • Develop or coordinate product-related marketing materials, including brochures, point-of-purchase materials, electronic direct mailers, presentations, and online content.
  • Measure the effectiveness of marketing initiatives and recommend improvements based on results.

Market and Competitive Analysis

  • Conduct market research to understand customer requirements, competitor activities, pricing trends, and market dynamics.
  • Analyse competitor offerings and recommend appropriate product positioning and differentiation strategies.
  • Keep abreast of industry, technology, and customer developments that may affect the assigned portfolio.
  • Translate market insights into actionable recommendations for product, sales, and business-development strategies.

Inventory and Forecast Management

  • Prepare timely and accurate sales, demand, and inventory forecasts for management and suppliers.
  • Work with relevant internal teams to maintain an appropriate inventory level that supports sales requirements while minimising excess, ageing, and obsolete stock.
  • Monitor inventory movement, product availability, and stock exposure, and recommend actions to address potential risks.
  • Maintain accurate product, pricing, forecast, and performance information for reporting and decision-making.

Reporting and Governance

  • Prepare regular reports on sales performance, profitability, forecasts, inventory, market developments, and key business risks.
  • Maintain proper documentation of supplier agreements, pricing approvals, marketing programmes, and commercial arrangements.
  • Ensure that product-related activities comply with internal policies, approval requirements, and applicable supplier terms.
  • Perform other related duties or projects as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in product management, channel management, business development, sales, or marketing.
  • Experience managing technology products, solutions, suppliers, or channel partners would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing go-to-market plans, managing product performance, and supporting commercial targets.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong commercial acumen, with an understanding of pricing, margins, forecasting, inventory, and profitability.
  • Strong analytical and market-research skills, with the ability to translate information into practical business actions.
  • Effective stakeholder-management and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct product training and communicate product value propositions clearly.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; experience with CRM, ERP, or business-reporting systems would be advantageous.

Personal Attributes

  • Results-oriented, sales-driven, and self-motivated.
  • Confident, articulate, and able to communicate effectively with different stakeholder groups.
  • Proactive and commercially minded, with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Able to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.
  • Organised and capable of managing multiple products, priorities, and deadlines.
