Description
Axalta has remained at the forefront of the coatings industry by continually investing in innovative solutions. We engineer technologies that protect customers’ products – whether they are battling heat, light, corrosion, abrasion, moisture, or chemicals – and add dimension and beauty with colourful finishes. We have a vast and ever-evolving portfolio of brands primed to play an important part in everything from modernizing infrastructure around the world to enabling the next generation of electric and autonomous vehicles.
We are currently looking for a Supply Chain Specialist (DRP Planner - Liquid) to join us at one of our facilities in Asturias (Spain).
The Supply Chain Specialist / Distribution Requirements Planner is responsible for planning and coordinating inventory flows across distribution centers to ensure product availability while optimizing inventory levels, service, and cost. This role translates demand signals into time-phased replenishment plans, aligns closely with supply, transportation, and warehouse teams, and continuously improves distribution planning performance.
Key Responsibilities
Distribution & Replenishment Planning
- Develop and maintain distribution requirements plans (DRP) for assigned distribution centers and regions.
- Translate demand forecasts into replenishment plans, considering lead times, safety stock, lot sizes, and capacity constraints.
- Determine optimal inventory levels to achieve service targets while minimizing excess and obsolescence.
- Monitor stock positions and proactively resolve risks such as shortages, overstock, or slow-moving inventory.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate with Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Manufacturing, Customer Service, Transportation, and Warehousing teams.
- Communicate priorities, constraints, and changes clearly to stakeholders.
- Support S&OP / IBP processes with reliable distribution and inventory insights.
Execution & Performance Management
- Track and analyse KPIs such as service level, inventory turns, stock-outs, and days of supply.
- Identify root causes of plan deviations and implement corrective actions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in planning processes, tools, and data quality.
Systems & Data Management
- Use ERP and planning systems (SAP, OMP, IBP, ...) to create and manage plans.
- Ensure master data accuracy (lead times, lanes, minimum order quantities, safety stocks).
- Prepare scenario analyses and what-if simulations for network or demand changes.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Business, or Engineering.
- 2–5+ years of experience in distribution planning, supply planning, or logistics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to turn data into action.
- Proficiency in ERP/planning systems and advanced Excel.
- Good understanding of inventory management and supply chain processes.
- Experience in regional or multi-DC distribution networks.
- Knowledge of S&OP / IBP processes.
- APICS certification (CPIM, CSCP) or equivalent is a plus.
- Experience in complex, fast-paced, or international supply chains.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Detail-oriented with a strategic mindset.
- Ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment.
- Continuous improvement mindset.
