Role Overview

To contribute to the overall success of the HR agenda in delivering a proactive and customer focused HR service by providing effective support, guidance and advice to managers and staff members on a wide variety of HR matters, such as employee relations, policy and process, recruitment and the delivery of key projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high quality HR advice and guidance to managers, supporting the effective resolution of complex and sensitive employee relations issues.
• Advise and coach managers on the application and interpretation of HR policies, procedures and employment legislation.
• Support the implementation and embedding of HR strategies and initiatives across the organisation.
• Manage and support complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, performance, capability and absence management matters.
• Draft HR documentation, contractual amendments and correspondence in line with employment legislation and best practice.
• Build strong working relationships with managers to understand business needs and provide appropriate HR support.
• Support recruitment activity, including job descriptions, person specifications, job evaluations and selection processes.
• Deliver HR engagement activities, including new starter inductions and first-line support for HR enquiries.
• Produce HR data analytics and reports, maintaining confidentiality and data accuracy at all times.
• Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of HR policies, procedures, practices and technology solutions.

Skills and Experience

• Experience of employee relations and absence management case work.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good working knowledge of employment law, HR policies and procedures.
• Ability to manage difficult situations and influence outcomes.
• Demonstrated commitment to delivering excellent levels of customer service and HR best practice.
• Willingness to travel to other company sites.
