Noble Hearts HR Consulting & Staffing is partnering with Assisted Student Transportation to identify a dependable and caring Transportation Aide to join their team in Olathe, Kansas.
Assisted Student Transportation provides specialized transportation services for school districts, supporting both general education students and students with special needs traveling to and from school, career training, and educational enrichment programs.

Position Summary
The Transportation Aide is responsible for supporting the safe, efficient, and reliable transportation of students. Working alongside the driver, the Aide assists with loading and unloading passengers, student supervision, safety restraints, mobility needs, and overall passenger well-being.
The ideal candidate is dependable, patient, attentive, and comfortable working with children of all ages, including students with special needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely assist students with loading and unloading from transportation vehicles.
- Secure passengers using appropriate car seats, boosters, seat belts, wheelchair securements, and other required safety equipment.
- Push and maneuver wheelchairs on and off vehicles as needed.
- Monitor students throughout transportation to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Position yourself appropriately within the vehicle to maintain visibility and provide assistance to passengers.
- Ensure no student or passenger is left unattended or unsupervised on the vehicle.
- Follow all required child restraint and passenger safety procedures.
- Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the vehicle interior.
- Support the safe evacuation of passengers in the event of an accident or emergency.
- Assist the driver when backing the vehicle or when additional observation is required.
- Become familiar with assigned routes and assist substitute drivers with route information.
- Maintain professional communication with students, families, school personnel, drivers, and other internal and external contacts.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support safe and efficient student transportation.
- Maintain compliance with Assisted Student Transportation policies, procedures, safety standards, and applicable regulations.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to successfully complete a company-sponsored drug screening.
- Ability to successfully complete a required physical examination and physical duties assessment.
- Ability to successfully pass criminal background checks, including fingerprinting.
- Ability to obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR Certification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Dependable, professional, and safety-focused.
- Ability to follow established student transportation and safety procedures.
- Ability to work effectively with children of different ages and needs.
Preferred
- Previous experience working with children or students.
- Experience supporting individuals with disabilities or special needs.
- Experience in childcare, education, caregiving, transportation, behavioral health, direct care, or a related field.
- Experience assisting individuals with wheelchairs or other mobility needs.
- Strong patience, situational awareness, problem-solving skills, and sound judgment.

Additional Requirements
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Must live locally or be able to reliably commute to Olathe, KS 66061.
- Must meet all training, certification, background screening, and scheduling requirements associated with the position.
- Must be able to work in varying environmental conditions, including daylight, darkness, rain, snow, heat, and cold.
- Must be able to perform physical activities including lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, walking, and navigating stairs.
- Must be able to push and maneuver wheelchairs as required.
- Must have sufficient hearing, vision, and verbal communication abilities to safely supervise and assist passengers.
- Must be able to read, write, follow instructions, solve problems, and exercise sound judgment.
