Recovery Coordinator – Opiate Team

Recovery can begin with one conversation.
As a Recovery Coordinator within our Mansfield Opiate Team, you’ll work alongside people from their first contact with the service and throughout their treatment journey.
You’ll help people understand their options, recognise their strengths and create a recovery plan built around what they want to achieve.
This is an opportunity to combine compassion with practical support—bringing together clinical treatment, harm reduction and wider community services to help people move forward.
The opportunity
You’ll be the main care coordinator for a caseload of people accessing opiate treatment.
Through assessments, recovery planning and regular reviews, you’ll understand each person’s needs, goals and circumstances. You’ll then coordinate the right package of support, working closely with prescribing clinicians, health services, partner agencies and community organisations.
You’ll help people reduce harm, strengthen their recovery networks and access support that extends beyond treatment—including peer support, mutual aid and wider health and community services.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll:
- Complete assessments, recovery plans, risk assessments and care reviews.
- Coordinate clinical, psychosocial and harm-reduction interventions.
- Work alongside prescribing clinicians to support safe and effective treatment.
- Respond to safeguarding concerns and make appropriate referrals.
- Provide advice on overdose prevention, blood-borne viruses and safer substance use.
- Maintain accurate records and work collaboratively with local partners and services.
Where you’ll work
Location: Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. You’ll be based within our Opiate Team and work closely with clinical colleagues, Recovery Coordinators, volunteers, peer mentors and local partners.
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week.
Please note: Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and any associated payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.
Responsibilities
About you
You understand that meaningful support begins with listening.
You’ll be confident building trusting relationships, managing a varied caseload and having honest, respectful conversations about risk, treatment and change.
You’ll bring:
- A strong understanding of drug and alcohol use, with experience in a related field.
- Experience completing assessments, managing risk and coordinating support.
- Strong communication, organisation and time-management skills.
- The ability to maintain accurate records and meet deadlines.
- A collaborative approach to working with health, mental health, criminal justice and community services.
Knowledge of mental health interventions would be valuable, but it is not essential.
