Description
Citi is looking for a Data Science & Analytics Lead (Data Science Lead Analyst - C13) to drive strategic data analysis and deliver scalable intelligence solutions across critical transformation programs at one of the world's leading global banks. In this role, you will act as a recognized technical authority, translating complex data into clear insights that directly shape business decisions and performance. You will work across multiple business lines and program groups, giving you broad exposure to the strategic initiatives defining Citi's future.
Responsibilities:
- Lead strategic data analysis across critical data transformation programs, surfacing actionable insights and presenting findings to senior stakeholders through clear, compelling data visualizations.
- Develop and deliver end-to-end analytics initiatives, scoping data requirements, estimating effort, and managing delivery against a defined project plan to solve complex business problems.
- Design and implement scalable workflow solutions that integrate with reporting infrastructure, ensuring long-term reliability and performance across the business.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to map current-state processes, identify optimization opportunities, and build target operating models that improve efficiency and reduce cost.
- Lead the full system change lifecycle from requirements gathering through to implementation, providing ongoing operational support and user training to business teams.
- Communicate project status, risks, and outcomes clearly and consistently to all stakeholders, including senior leadership, ensuring full visibility of progress and mitigation strategies.
- Assess the business implications of technology decisions and proactively identify, escalate, and manage risks to protect delivery timelines and organizational objectives.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- 6+ years of hands-on experience applying statistical modelling techniques to large, complex datasets in a professional environment.
- Expert-level proficiency in Excel and Power Query, with the ability to build sophisticated models, automate data workflows, and deliver high-quality analysis at pace.
- Expert-level proficiency in Python, applied to data manipulation, statistical analysis, and the development of scalable, repeatable analytical processes.
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize large volumes of data rapidly to build Business Intelligence layers, generate insights, and establish repeatable analytical processes.
- Experience leading process improvement or project management initiatives, with the ability to independently define scope, manage delivery, and drive outcomes.
- Strong capability to conduct business process modelling, workflow analysis, and requirements gathering across multiple business sectors simultaneously.
- Effective communicator with the ability to translate complex analytical findings into clear, concise messaging for both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior management.
- Ability to navigate a matrixed organization, influencing stakeholders and negotiating resources across teams to keep programs on track.
- Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience
- MBA or advanced degree in Information Systems, Business Analysis, Computer Science, or a related discipline is an advantage
