Head of Finance

We're looking for an experienced Head of Finance to join our clients leadership team, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a busy finance function, lead a team of four, and make a genuine contribution to an organisation that has a lasting impact on the communities it serves.

What you'll be doing

You'll be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the finance function, ensuring everything runs smoothly while providing the financial insight that supports confident decision-making.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading, mentoring and developing a team of four.
• Managing the day-to-day finance function.
• Preparing management accounts and financial reports.
• Leading the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
• Managing VAT, HMRC compliance and statutory reporting.
• Overseeing payroll and financial controls.
• Supporting the year-end audit process.
• Working closely with budget holders and senior leaders to provide commercial and financial guidance.
• Driving continuous improvement across finance processes and systems.

About you

You'll be a qualified finance professional (CIMA or equivalent) with previous experience leading a finance team.

You'll also bring:

• Strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Experience managing budgets, forecasting and reporting.
• Payroll experience.
• A hands-on approach with excellent attention to detail.
• The confidence to build relationships across the organisation and challenge constructively where needed.
