Analyst - Payroll

Role Summary

Analyst - Payroll Services is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payrolls and related queries, ensuring compliance with Rio Tinto's SOPs and policies. This role involves handling payroll processing, termination payments, and complex queries, serving as a level 2 quality checker, driving compliance, identifying process improvement opportunities, and staying updated on payroll regulations and best practices.

What would you be responsible for :

• Timely & accurate processing of payrolls, termination payments and related queries:

o Efficient and accurate processing of payrolls, termination payments and related queries within the given SLA

o Handling escalated issues from the payroll team o Assisting in the resolution of complex payroll-related queries and delivering ad hoc payroll-related business requirements

o Collaborating closely with ESPS team members to resolve issues and meet deadlines

• Quality Assurance and Compliance:

o Serve as a level 2 quality checker for the service line, and ensure that payrolls are processed accurately and adhere to established guidelines and policies

• Adherence to Policies and Guidelines:

o Driving and monitoring compliance with global/local policies, company policies, internal control standards, and regulatory requirements

• Professional Development:

o Stay updated on payroll best practices, industry trends, and regulatory changes to ensure compliance o Participate in training programs and seek opportunities for professional growth to enhance knowledge and skills.

What experience, skills and qualifications are required :

• A Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field

• 4-7 years of experience in payroll processing or related roles.

• Proficiency in using payroll software or systems for data entry, calculations, and generating payroll reports. Familiarity with popular payroll system SAP is beneficial

• Strong understanding of payroll principles, processes, and regulations, including tax laws, deductions, benefits, and reporting requirements

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, calculations, and payroll processing to ensure error-free and compliant payroll

• Good interpersonal skills to interact with employees and stakeholders regarding payroll matters.
