Join the Mechanical Design team at GE Aerospace in Garching near Munich as an Intern or Working Student. In this role, you will apply your technical and analytical skills to support the development of advanced aircraft engine technologies. You will gain hands-on experience while working with experienced engineers on real design and analysis tasks.

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Support documentation of low-pressure turbine design activities, trade studies, and analysis results.
• Develop and improve automation scripts (e.g., Bash, ANSYS macros, Python) to reduce manual effort.
• Assist with data post-processing, reporting, and structural assessments under engineer guidance.
• Prepare and present technical results to team members and supervisors.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with scripting (e.g., Bash, Python) is an advantage.
• Initial experience with structural analysis or FEM/FEA tools such as ANSYS is a plus.
• Initial experience with 3D CAD tools, ideally Siemens NX, and basic knowledge of technical drawings, dimensions, and tolerances.
• Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team.
• Proactive mindset and willingness to take on challenges.
• Interest in aerospace engineering and basic understanding of mechanical design or analysis, ideally in turbine or frame modules.
• Enrolled in the 3rd year or higher of a Bachelor’s program, or in a Master’s program, in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
