Services Senior Specialist - Applications Engineering
Reports to: Regional Service Delivery Technical Manager
Grade: 08
Essential Responsibilities
- Responsible for technical design, planning, and development of job programs.
- Propose appropriate technology, equipment, and software for each job, including preparing Deviation Waiver Requests and bridging documents when required.
- Serve as a key technical team member during completion and workover activities within IS or discrete projects.
- Identify opportunities for operational optimization and the application of new technologies.
- Schedule and lead pre-job planning reviews to ensure readiness and alignment.
- Conduct technical reviews, failure investigations, and root-cause analyses, and properly document and communicate lessons learned.
- Manage project workflows, customer engagements, and technical deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
- Advise internal teams and customers on best practices for Liner Hanger Systems or Completions.
- Develop technical content for tender responses and commercial proposals.
- Support risk reviews as required, ensuring technical and operational risks are fully addressed.
- Compare job-as-planned versus job-as-executed results, documenting lessons learned and identifying continuous improvement opportunities by performing after-action reviews.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and execute optimal solutions for each intervention.
- Follow internal Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies at all times to ensure safe, compliant operations.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, influencing, and planning skills.
- Strong understanding of the Service Delivery process and the technical nature of the business.
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline, or equivalent knowledge and experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Liner Hanger Systems and Completions, including exposure to both operational execution and application engineering activities.
- Demonstrated experience supporting both Liner Hanger Systems and Completions applications, including job design, execution support, troubleshooting, and customer-facing technical engagements.
- Experience in Intelligent Production Systems (Hydraulic and Electric) is preferred.
- Broad exposure to operations, including offshore environments.
- Proven experience and confidence in direct client interactions.
- Excellent understanding of flow-control equipment and safety systems.
- Ability to travel as required (rig sites, customer facilities, meetings, training, etc.).
- Availability to be on call outside normal business hours.
- Thorough knowledge of Completions and Wellbore Intervention systems and practices.
- Familiarity with systems such as MaPS, FRACAS, Job Center, WEC, and SAP.
Desired Characteristics
- Preferred prior experience includes roles such as Application Engineer, Service Delivery Coordinator, Project Manager, or similar technical disciplines supporting both Liner Hanger Systems and Completions product lines.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective facilitation and presentation abilities.
- Ability to work and communicate well with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong skills for high-level client presentations.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in Portuguese, English, and Spanish.
- Previous experience presenting detailed and technical information is preferred.
- Solid project management skills.
- Advanced problem-solving capabilities in applied engineering, design, and technology development.
- Self-driven, highly motivated, and able to work in a structured manner within a global, interdisciplinary team with limited supervision.
- Strong commitment to continuous learning and development.
- English will be a plus.
