Job Description Summary
Contribute to an effective compliance program by mitigating legal, regulatory, operational, and reputational risk by applying broad regulatory compliance knowledge to perform complex assignments, identify issues and trends, communicate findings and recommend practical enhancements that strengthen compliance controls and business practices.Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Own assigned regulatory change initiatives and compliance projects from planning through completion.
- Perform reviews of business processes, controls, policies, products and services to assess adherence to applicable regulatory requirements and company standards.
- Research, analyze, and interpret current, new, and proposed laws, regulations, bulletins, regulatory guidance, and internal policy changes to determine potential impact to the organization.
- Identify emerging risks, control gaps, and regulatory developments and recommend enhancements to compliance controls and business processes.
- Coordinate state regulatory filings, including gathering required information, supporting timely submissions, tracking filing status, and assisting with responses to regulator questions or follow-up requests.
- Document procedures, results, findings, recommendations, and corrective action plans; coordinate follow-up with business partners to support timely remediation and sustainable control improvements.
- Draft, review and maintain complete and accurate compliance documentation, including policies, procedures, logs, testing files, reports, records, and other required materials.
- Provide compliance guidance and support to business partners regarding regulatory requirements, compliance expectations, control design, process improvements, and implementation of new or enhanced business practices.
- Contribute to the development and execution of new or enhanced compliance programs, enterprise-wide initiatives, training, tools, and procedures.
- Represent compliance in projects involving new products, services, operational changes, regulatory updates, policy development, training creation, or control enhancements to help ensure compliant implementation.
- Assist team members with complex research, assigned tasks, special projects, and knowledge sharing; may provide guidance, coaching, or training to less experienced team members as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, legal studies, risk management, compliance or related field
- 5+ years of regulatory compliance, insurance, and/or other relevant experience
- 2+ years of experience in insurance, , regulatory change management, or other financial services compliance functions
- Experience working with business partners, Legal, Compliance, Operations, Sales, Marketing, product teams, or other stakeholders to support compliant business practices and process improvements
- Knowledge of applicable state insurance, ERISA, DOL, and/or other regulatory requirements based on assigned responsibilities
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance concepts, control testing, monitoring practices, policy and procedure review, issue identification, and remediation processes
- Ability to perform complex research, analyze, and interpret regulatory requirements, policies, procedures, data, and business processes to identify risks, issues, trends, and potential solutions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize complex information clearly and communicate findings, recommendations, and regulatory expectations to varied audiences
- Analytical, critical-thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, reviews, requests, and projects with minimal supervision
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office tools
Preferred Qualifications:
- Compliance certifications or industry designations based on assigned responsibilities
Compensation
The Salary for this position generally ranges between $80,000 - $90,0000 annually. Please note that the salary range is a good faith estimate for this position and actual starting pay is determined by several factors including qualifications, experience, geography, work location designation (in-office, hybrid, remote) and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.
Additionally, this position is typically eligible for an Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at the Company’s discretion.
