Job Overview
Associate Director, Performance Management is enabling and supporting the Regional team to work most effectively with internal and external stakeholders and fulfill the performance management commitments to Biogen’s patients, shareholders, and Board of Directors.
This is operations oriented and facilitative role requires a combination of focus and flexibility, as well as a willingness to play an active, driven role. The role requires a highly resourceful individual with strong analytical skills performance orientation, emotional intelligence and self-motivation. The role will require to be an eye-to-eye partner with the Affiliates, CMI, CE&O and international Brand teams partners. The role will work closely with the Head of Operations and with the Regional Team and with the Commercial Therapeutic Area Heads in the Region, support and facilitate discussions and decisions to be made. The role will act as trusted partner for region related topics.
The role will be immersed in operational analysis as well as leading projects within the business. The role is working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, responsible for generating strategic insights on market research and business analytics.
Principal Accountabilities
Performance Management, and Analysis:
- Provide strategic analysis on functional /regional performance flagging trends and issues to enable smooth decision making on the action and focus areas,
- Responsible for active Liaison with cross-functional country and international Brand Teams and CE&O functions to analyze challenges, consult and provide solutions. Understands the cross-functional impact and drives cross-country collaboration.
- Responsible for financial and marketing research and drives any project or follow-up activities post-research
Strategic Analysis and Performance projects
- Together with the Head of Operations in Strategic Analysis, responsible for driving culture and further develop mid- and long-term strategies and execution plan for Region Europe
- Responsible for the management of cross functional projects on international level as required with timelines and deliverables with a main focus on portfolio performance evaluation and strategic projects to support the commercial direction of Biogen Europe
- Ideating and leading workshops and meetings on topics related to operational excellence and performance
Project Management
- The role drives cross-functional projects on a local, global or international level as required with timelines and deliverables.
- Supporting the Head of Operations and Therapeutic Area Heads in the region in interactions with the international product teams participating in respective governance meetings
- Supporting the AOP process helping gather key information and evaluate internal and external future trends
Minimum Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree is required; Masters degree or MBA preferred
- Fluent in English and additional European language is an asset (written and spoken)
Minimum Experience Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in similar roles
- Excellent strategic and analytical skills
- Advanced project management skills are advantageous
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
- Eagerness to learn and willingness to challenge status quo
- Team-player with ability to navigate ambiguous environment s
- Prior Business Unit Head are critical criteria for the role. financial acumen are critical assets for this role.
