Description
Responsible for independent credit risk admission and ongoing risk monitoring of structured finance transactions for Corporate & Investment Banking clients, covering project finance, asset-backed finance, fund finance, leveraged finance, equity-backed finance and securitization. Responsibilities include deal and rating analysis, risk assessment and approval, and ongoing portfolio monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
Transaction Analysis & Credit Assessment - Perform independent credit and risk assessment of structured finance transactions, including analysis of transaction structure, key stakeholders, contractual arrangements, financial capability, cash flows, collateral, key credit metrics and stress scenarios. Review due diligence materials, benchmark against comparable transactions, and present credit recommendations to local and global risk committees.
Credit Rating Assessment - Assign and review transaction and corporate ratings using relevant internal rating methodologies, considering transaction structure, debt sizing, stakeholder strength, cash-flow resilience, sensitivities and collateral/security packages. Prepare rating recommendations and present them to rating committees for approval.
Portfolio Monitoring & Ongoing Risk Management - Monitor the credit quality of the portfolio through periodic review of financial performance, key risk metrics, covenant compliance and other material developments, and update ratings where appropriate. Assess amendment, consent and waiver requests and present risk recommendations to relevant approval committees.
Stakeholder Engagement & Risk Governance - Engage with clients, sponsors, advisors, legal counsel, Front Office, Middle Office and other stakeholders as part of transaction due diligence and ongoing risk management. Provide independent risk challenge, identify emerging risks and ensure transactions are managed in accordance with the Bank’s risk appetite, policies and governance standards.
Requirements:
- A university degree or equivalent qualification is required; CPA or CFA qualifications would be an advantage.
- At least 5 years of relevant credit risk, structured finance or credit assessment experience. preferably gained within Corporate & Investment Banking, a financial institution or a comparable environment. Experience in one or more of project finance, asset-backed finance, fund finance, leveraged finance, securitization or equity-backed finance would be an advantage.
- Strong financial analysis and credit assessment skills; financial modelling experience would be an advantage.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Mandarin would be an advantage.
- Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
