Human Resource Generalist

Big River Resources is looking to add an HR Generalist to the team at the West Burlington corporate office location. The HR Generalist assists with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources functions and duties. The Human Resources Generalist helps with the implementation of services, policies, and programs; reports to the Human Resources Manager and assists company managers with HR issues.

Qualifications

  Essential Skills & Functions

  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Human Resources principles, practices, employment laws, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong understanding of employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, and recruitment practices.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, COBRA, HIPAA, EEO, and related regulations.
  • Minimum three to five years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret policies and apply them consistently and fairly.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with employees, supervisors, managers, and executive leadership.
  • Proficiency with Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), payroll systems, and benefits administration platforms. (ADP Workforce Now experience is a plus)
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and database management.
  • Ability to prepare reports, analyze data, and provide recommendations.
  • Strong project management and process improvement skills.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Some travel between facilities may be required.
