Lead the Structural Delivery of Mission-Critical Infrastructure
Delivering hyperscale data centers and complex infrastructure projects requires strong structural engineering leadership from concept development through construction execution. From foundations and underground structures to steel systems and critical support infrastructure, successful projects depend on sound engineering, constructability, and collaboration. At Michels Infrastructure Solutions, Inc. (MIS), we partner with customers, engineering firms, and construction teams to deliver some of North America's most complex mission-critical, hyperscale, and infrastructure projects. As the General Contractor and EPC delivery arm of the Michels Family of Companies, MIS combines technical expertise with construction excellence to safely execute projects that power technology, connectivity, and economic growth.
Position Overview
As a Structural Engineering Project Manager, you will lead the planning, coordination, and management of structural engineering activities for large-scale data center and infrastructure projects. You will serve as the primary technical liaison between engineering, construction operations, consultants, customers, and project stakeholders to ensure structural designs are effectively integrated into project execution. This role requires strong technical knowledge, engineering judgment, and leadership skills to oversee engineering deliverables, support constructability efforts, manage design coordination, and help drive successful project outcomes. Success requires the ability to balance technical excellence with practical construction solutions while maintaining project objectives related to safety, quality, schedule, and budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead structural engineering coordination and technical planning activities across all phases of project delivery.
- Manage structural engineering deliverables and coordinate efforts between customers, consultants, subcontractors, and construction teams.
- Review structural drawings, calculations, specifications, BIM models, and technical documentation for accuracy, constructability, and compliance.
- Support proposal development, scope definition, value engineering initiatives, and technical solution development during project pursuits.
- Identify structural design risks, field conflicts, and constructability concerns while developing practical solutions to support project execution.
- Collaborate closely with civil, geotechnical, architectural, MEP, and construction teams to ensure successful project delivery.
What You'll Do
- Manage structural engineering activities supporting hyperscale data center and mission-critical infrastructure projects.
- Facilitate coordination between engineering, procurement, construction, and project controls teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead technical reviews of foundations, concrete structures, steel systems, equipment support structures, and other structural components.
- Support project planning, scheduling, procurement, and execution strategies through constructability analysis and engineering expertise.
- Monitor engineering deliverables, project progress, technical performance, and stakeholder commitments to support successful project outcomes.
- Serve as a trusted technical resource for customers, engineering partners, and construction teams throughout project execution.
