Make an impact where safety starts

We’re building for the better!

By 2036, more than 150,000 patients will look to us for healthcare every year.

As our services grow, ensuring the highest standards of infection prevention and patient safety has never been more important.

At Cabrini Health we champion community, compassion and career fulfilment. Our teams are united by the shared purpose of making a meaningful contribution to exceptional, patient-centred care in well- resourced, world class facilities that inspire you to perform at your best and continuously grow professionally.

The Opportunity

Are you an experienced infection prevention clinician ready to take the next step in your career?

We are seeking an experienced Infection Prevention and Control Clinical Nurse Coordinator to join our team and play a key role in shaping infection prevention practice across Cabrini.

This is an opportunity to move beyond day-to-day IPC activities and take on a highly visible clinical leadership role — influencing practice, driving improvement and working alongside clinical teams to make care safer for every patient, every day.

As a senior clinical leader, you will provide expert advice and guidance across our services, lead quality and improvement initiatives, support the management of complex infection prevention issues and help translate contemporary evidence into everyday clinical practice.

You will work collaboratively with nursing, medical, allied health and operational leaders, while contributing to education, surveillance, strategic priorities and the ongoing development of Cabrini’s infection prevention and control program.

If you are passionate about patient safety, enjoy influencing and supporting others, and want the opportunity to make an impact across an entire healthcare organisation, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert infection prevention and control advice and clinical leadership.

  • Lead investigations into healthcare-associated infections and outbreaks.

  • Develop and deliver infection prevention policies, education and training.

  • Conduct audits, surveillance, risk assessments and data analysis aligned with NSQHS Standard 3.

  • Support and mentor staff while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and clinical excellence.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient safety and service outcomes.

About You

You are an experienced Infection Prevention professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for patient safety.

You will have:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.

  • Graduate Diploma in Infection Prevention and Control (or working towards).

  • National Hand Hygiene Initiative (NHHI) Hand Hygiene Educator accreditation (or working towards).

  • Minimum five years' post-registration nursing experience.

  • At least two years' experience in Infection Prevention and Control.

  • Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.

What we offer:

  • Salary packaging: up to $15,900 tax-free each year, plus $2650 meal & entertainment card benefits

  • Convenience: Vibrant Malvern location, close to local shops, cafes and public transport

  • Travel Perks: Myki Commuter discounted fares

  • A commitment to health and wellbeing initiatives including discounted access to a wide range of gyms, pools, and fitness facilities through Fitness Passport

  • Access to a range of retail offers, discounted hospital services and savings on eligible private health fund services
