Description
Responsibilities
- Create engaging, on-brand content for Purdue for Life Foundation social media accounts, focusing on Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.
- Brainstorm, script, storyboard, film, and edit short-form video content.
- Collaborate with the social media lead and marketing and communications team on the review and approval process, and refine content based on feedback.
- Publish approved videos according to a content schedule, and monitor for engagement.
- Stay up to date on trending social media topics, sounds, and formats to make content relevant and shareable. Respond to direct messages and comments in a timely and professional manner.
- Use Sprout Social to schedule content, check messages, and report on performance metrics.
- Perform additional social media projects as assigned.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Strong understanding of Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, LinkedIn, and X
- Experience filming and editing video content for social media using native apps or editing software
- Creative mindset with the ability to turn ideas into polished, shareable content
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable appearing and speaking on camera
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and adherence to brand guidelines
- Knowledge of the culture and community of Purdue for Life and Purdue University
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Ability to work outdoors
- Ability to work 10 to 15 hours per week in a hybrid environment
Required Education, Experience and Benefits Summary
- Experience with creating social media content is required.
- Must be a Purdue University student in West Lafayette
